Friday Faith Foundations - There will always be hope if you believe
The Robyn Graham Show - Success without Social - Life and Business Growth Strategies for Christian Women, Coaches and Service Providers10/13/23 • 13 min
What have you been hoping for? Maybe your biggest hopes and dreams have not come to fruition, yet. But it's important to remember that there will always be hope if you believe.
A story about hopeAs you may know, I launched the Success Without Social Media Mastermind last week. To say it didn't go as planned is an understatement. I felt a lack of hope for my business and the offer I thought was going to be well received. I wanted to be angry and sad. For a moment or two, I even told God how upset I was that He hadn't made the launch a success. After all, I'd done everything I knew to do to market it and I'd prayed for his blessing upon it.
Instead of staying mad at God, I decided to dive into scripture and see what He had to say about the experience. Every verse I read for the next two days was about strength, hope, and perseverance. I wanted to give up but he was emphatically telling me not to.
Upon journaling about what I'd read and heard from Him, I discovered a few things. I am sharing this experience with you because I think it's super important to be real and share that not everything goes the way we want it to.
What I learned about hopeI've always been someone who hopes a lot and believes that absolutely anything is possible with God. Philippians 4:13 has been on repeat in my mind for years - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Likewise, In Mark 10:27 we are reminded by Jesus that “With man, this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
These two verses remind us that there will always be hope if you believe. But here's the reality. Just because we want something, doesn't mean that is what is best for us or what God has planned for us. It doesn't mean there is no longer hope, it means that what I was hoping for wasn't the right thing for me (or you) at this time.
And often, God uses experiences like this to teach us a lesson. I was indeed in need of a lesson last week. By diving into scripture and listening to what God had to say, I realized that I was following the recommendations of humans, not God. I was depending on what my coaches had told me, not on what my intuition and God were telling me.
Doing what my coaches have been doing and teaching me about isn't aligned with me or the purpose God has for me - right now. In addition, I wasn't trusting Him, I was trying to control what happened in my business instead of letting Him guide me. If my launch had been a huge success I would have proven I, like all the big-wig coaches online, could have a six-figure launch. But that isn't me. It isn't my priority. And it also wasn't what God was calling me to do.
