In this episode, Stephen brings on two college buddies, Jacob Strong and Jon Steltzer, who have achieved remarkable success in the real estate industry. Jake and Jon are two friends who started their real estate journey with absolutely nothing. They had no money, no W-2s, and no credit, making it impossible for them to go to a bank for a loan. However, they were determined to make it work, and they did.
Their story is known as "The Craigslist Come Up," and it all started when they were roommates after graduating from college. They were trying to figure out what to do with their lives when they stumbled upon the idea of buying and fixing up campers to sell them for a profit. Through this process, they learned a lot about construction, negotiation, and business, and made some money. After doing this for a while, they decided to take things to the next level and buy a house. They found a property on Craigslist that needed a lot of work, and they were able to negotiate a great deal. They fixed it up and sold it for a profit, and from there, their real estate empire was born.
