My suggestion is that you be both☺️
What I’ve found in my career is that I gain a deeper understanding of thing when I teach it. As my network marketing business grew, I had to step into the teacher role and help my team get the results I was getting.
It’s the same with content creation. Publishing content everyday pushing you to grow and really deep dive into your chosen topic. You’ll find that once you gain proficiency your topic, teaching on it will give you an even deeper understanding of it.

Do it Scared
No matter how much you know or how far along you are on your journey, you’ll always experience fear in one form or another. So when it comes to new tasks and endeavors, do it scared.
If you’re working to break into a new field or expand your career (like I am at the moment) into different territory, you’re going to feel a high level of uncertainty. The unknowns and what ifs, the self doubt and impostor syndrome, all these things will creep up and work to stop you in your tracks, stop you from taking action.
The only way to get to your goal though is through those fears. So, just do it scared.
