How to Run a Post-Mortem Meeting
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
02/14/23 • 16 min
5.0
Have you ever worked on a project that went completely sideways? One of those situations where mistakes get made, tempers run high, and all attempts to course-correct fail.
It happens to the best of us. Yet, these situations seem to pull out the worst in us.
Everyone gets so caught up in protecting their own behinds that team dynamics and performance devolve even further.
When a team gets to this unhealthy place, a reset is needed.
A post-mortem meeting is an effective way to reset team dynamics and improve team performance—if it’s run well by a cool-headed facilitator.
I break down how to run a post-mortem meeting.

Too Many Meetings, Not Enough Time
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
01/17/23 • 20 min
If you are spending your day racing from meeting to meeting—and starting your actual work at 5 pm—you are getting it wrong.
“I have too many meetings,” you sigh to yourself and to your co-workers. “I need to go to these meetings,” you adamantly believe. “My team can’t meet without me,” you say to yourself.
I’m calling BS on all of these beliefs. It’s time to spend your workday on the work that matters!
Don’t know how to break the cycle? I got you. I’ll show you how to start taking back control by doing a calendar audit.
It’s time to break free from the “too many meetings, not enough time” blues.

5 Things I’ve Learned by Returning to the Office
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
01/10/23 • 18 min
Returning to the office is one of the hottest topics in corporate America right now.
The 2020 lockdowns have forever changed the way we work. While most of us have no desire to go back to the way things were, there are distinct advantages to in-person work and collaboration.
For the past few months, I’ve experimented with a hybrid work schedule, and I’ve learned how to take the best advantage of a flexible work style.
In this episode, I share five things I’ve learned by returning to the office.

Slow your scroll...
I’m popping into your feed with a gentle reminder. It’s okay to unplug!
I know you are used to being 100% connected 24/7. We all are. But, even badasses like us need the space to rest and rejuvenate.
Let’s all slow down this holiday season and savor the moment. I’ll share what works for me and give insight into how I plan on unplugging this holiday.

Your 2023 Bucket List
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
01/24/23 • 18 min
As ambitious women, we talk a lot about goals. Setting goals, chasing goals, achieving goals.
We’re driven by what’s next to chase. The next promotion, the next career move, the next health target. And to be perfectly honest, the journey toward the next achievement is a key ingredient in feeling fulfilled.
What if I told you it can’t all be about chasing the big goals? Seems like a counterintuitive question for a career podcast to ask, right?
But, my mission is to not only help women dominate their career. I also want to help women build a life they love.
Today, I want to focus on your 2023 bucket list. Do you have one? If not, I’m going to convince you why you need one.

Holiday Parties, Hangovers & Regret
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
12/06/22 • 19 min
Hangovers suck.
The only thing worse after a work holiday party? Waking up with a hangover AND regret.
Regret that you said too much to the wrong people. Flirted with a cube mate. Went on a tirade about your boss. Danced on a table in a mini skirt. There are so many ways that a work holiday party can go sideways.
That said, it’s a party. It’s also a chance to connect with co-workers and have a little fun!
Let’s talk about having fun at your holiday party—and waking up regret-free the day after.

Don’t Use This Positive Mantra!
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
11/29/22 • 17 min
Sometimes, we need a little emotional pick-me-up. We’re worried or stressed out, and we just can’t seem to calm down our feverish thoughts.
You can try meditation, yoga, prayer, or other mindfulness practices. But, if you’re like me—one of those people who wonders “how long do I need to sit in this silence” when attempting meditation—there’s an easy hack that can help. It’s a little something called the positive mantra. Positive affirmations are a powerful way to calm anxiety and give you a little confidence boost.
But, not all mantras are good for you. There’s one popular mantra that’s actually quite toxic and should be avoided at all costs.
I share the mantra to avoid and why in this episode.

How to Recover from a F**k Up
The REAL-WORLD FEMINIST® Podcast
02/07/23 • 20 min
Everyone makes mistakes at work. Yes, even we type-A personalities that want to think we are flawless.
It happens. The unfortunate typo that gets printed on 10,000 brochures. The emotional outburst in a very public team meeting. The bad formula in a spreadsheet that results in an unfortunate billing error.
Yes, everyone makes mistakes. But, not everyone recovers gracefully with their professional reputation intact.
How you handle yourself in these moments makes all the difference in how you are perceived in corporate America. I break down how to recover from a f**k up.
