On this week’s episode of The Ramp. It. Up! Podcast I am joined by Dr. Guy Romain, physical therapist and owner of NeuroFit 360. We talk about his work with spinal cord injury patients, his passion for activity based therapy, and his vision for the future of the field.

Dr. Guy Romain earned his B.S in Health Science From Montclair State University in 1995. His career started as a health educator for at risk youth at the Englewood's Health Department in New Jersey. He moved to Florida 2 years later to start his physical therapy educational journey at Nova Southeastern University and obtained his Master of Physical Therapy in 2003. His experience in all aspects of physical therapy is extensive including but not limited to: sports, orthopedic, manual therapy, pediatric and neurological injury. In 2012, he took on the challenge to mend the void in neuro recovery and wellness and opened NeuroFit360. Guy completed his DPT with a specialty in neuro recovery from the Neuro Recovery Institute. His passion is so evident; he shows up to work ready to tackle the challenges that both him and his clients face everyday.

He also shares his injury and recovery story and about living life in the fast lane... literally!

In 2008, Brandon Winfield (he/him) was injured in a motocross accident that left him with a thoracic spinal cord injury (paralyzed from the waist down). Only 14 years old at the time, he was faced with the decision to either let this dramatic event stop him from truly living the life he wanted or to turn it into an opportunity to triumph in the face of tragedy – Brandon chose the latter. He continued his love for racing in the form of four wheels, entered sprint kart racing, and won numerous events across the country. As he traveled, he realized that although some places he visited were compliant according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), many areas were grandfathered in and never forced to retrofit to accommodate the mobility impaired.

These experiences sparked the idea for iAccess, a mobile app that would allow people with disabilities to rate and review the accessibility of venues such as restaurants, lounges, clubs, and bars...Click HERE to continue reading bio.
