In this captivating installment of our Shades of Bae series, we draw inspiration from Netflix's Black Mirror episode, "Striking Vipers."

It tells the tale of two old friends who reunite and begin a new chapter in their friendship within a virtual reality video game called "Striking Vipers." As they immerse themselves in this virtual world, taking on different identities and engaging in intense tournaments, they find themselves exploring a deeper and more complicated intimate connection within and outside the game. As the lines blur between the virtual and the real, they find themselves in an unconventional affair they are unable to conceal. Join us as we unpack this fascinating episode of Black Mirror and navigate the complex terrain of relationships, identity, and the many shades of gray our sexualities exist between.

Picking up where we left off from “The Toxic Nipple” which is the first episode of this series, we take a turn to navigate the complexities of same-sex relationships that transcend and challenge traditional definitions. Untitled, undefined with both parties often not inclined, to put a label or bring what is unspoken to the table. Are they uninterested or unable to dissect, the desires they have, that society has told them, to reject? Or are those desires linked, to bonds, they are more inclined, to protect? This is a journey through what is often unseen, yet felt deeply, at the core of one's being. Join us as we take, a look at the nuanced experiences that have shaped us, the bonds that break the boundaries we make.

In this follow-up from the previous installment of our “Shades of Bae” series, we pick up the conversation from where we left off in “An Unconventional Affair”, which was inspired by Black Mirror’s striking vipers' episode, where two best friends found themselves in a virtual entanglement that rooted itself much further and deeper than either of them would ever imagine. As our conversation progressed we found ourselves unpacking what some would say, the cheater knows best. With assignations afoot, and reflections of the misplaced trust we put, with previous partners for which we have now parted ways. Removed emotionally from journeys we once took, we now convene to take a look at the nuance at play, in the many shades of bae.
