Micro-Bursts of Connections
with Laura Silverstein (Season 3 | Episode 111)
[TESSA] What fun to have Laura Silverstein on our show this week!
Laura is a recognized thought leader in the field of relationship wellness, sought out for her expert advice from media outlets such as The New York Times and The Today Show.
Author of Amazon Best Seller, Love Is an Action Verb, she is one of today’s most original and insightful experts on modern relationships.
Her advice is evidence-based, inclusive, jargon-free and action-oriented. She is known for helping couples focus on their strengths instead of their problems and guiding them with small, step-by-step action plans.
If the heart is a muscle, then we need to continue to strengthen it. But what about these “micro-bursts...” As Laura says about little bits of attention.... “micro-bursts of connection.” They are...
- Sending a text
- A winkie emoji
- “You look cute. I hope your meeting goes well.”
- Hugging someone for 2 seconds
These little transactions build love and build connections. These things set a precedent. They set a new norm that people benefit from.
Transparency & Micro-Bursts of Connections
Laura Silverstein
Hi, I’m Laura.Love is an action verb, not a passive noun. I guide busy couples to revive their relationships with science-backed, action-oriented advice one conversation at a time. As a speaker, author, trainer, and Certified Gottman Couples Therapist, I have spent 30 years learning what makes long-lasting love and what leads to slow, steady relationship decline. I am a lifelong learner who has had the privilege to learn from renowned relational psychologists, fearless clients, readers, and my family, who know first-hand that I don’t always “practice what I preach” (but am always committed to doing better).
I am fiercely passionate about equity and inclusion, and this next phase in my career is about sharing what I know with as many people as possible, especially those who might not need or have access to, traditional couples therapy. I strive to make no assumptions about who you love or how you love.

What’s Tik Tok Got to Do With It?
with Mel the Podcaster and Maryjane Fahey from Glorious Broads (Season 3 | Episode 110)
[TESSA] Love, Relationships, Sex in a Rapidly Changing World
I bring to you today two women who are open about their lives – from all angles. How to handle children who are finding themselves (politically, professionally, emotionally). How to understand and deal with the body’s changes when it comes to sex (and male partners’ changes as well). How to look at friendships that might be short-term, seasonal or even life-long.
We have three (I’ll include myself) women unafraid of frank conversations about taboo topics. And that makes this a gem of an episode.

Becoming Beloveds
with Kari and Steven Cardinale
(Season 3 | Episode 112)
[TESSA] This week we have Kari and Steven Cardinale.
About This Episode
You are going to hear about the concept of a “beloved.” You’ll hear that Steven is a Tigger and Kari is an Eore... at least sometimes. And you’ll hear about casting spells. And some chat about long-range decisions.
Both Kari and Steven live and work in the realm of coaching and thought leadership (both are avid readers). Using assessment tools, they both have looked closely at each of their character strengths and values (spoiler alert Kari’s top character strength is kindness and Steven’s is creativity). They apply these strengths and values to their decision-making.
Modern Elder Academy
Kari works at MEA. Modern Elder Academy is on a mission to reframe midlife from a crisis to a calling. Our purpose is to help you find a renewed sense of purpose. Midlife is a time when things start to shift and change. And any moment of change brings an opportunity for reinvention and revitalization. What do you truly want out of your career and your life?
Ask deep questions and find great answers on a sun-drenched stretch of the Pacific, far away from your day-to-day. Here, with the gifts of time, space, and a cohort of other curious learners by your side, we’ll dig into our challenges together, and discover what’s possible.

Prior to starting CID, Mr. Cardinale served as Chief Technology Officer for iBidCo, an on-line real estate sales site that sold more real estate “sight unseen” than any other, where he crafted a partnership with eBay and Zip Realty.
An accomplished business, management and technology strategist, he has consulted with Eli Lily, Janus Funds, IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the J. Paul Getty Museum.
