Life In Paris, Banana Maps and Travel As A Priority With Anne Ditmeyer
The Nomadic Foodist Show11/11/21 • 98 min
Anne Ditmeyer is the long-time writer behind Prêt à Voyager (translation: ready to travel), a blog of Anne’s stories living abroad in Paris. Through her up and downs living in the French capital, Anne created her own business as a creative coach and consultant by providing workshops such as Mapping Your Path, a three-month workshop, and community experience setting people up for success on their terms.
Traveling is in her DNA with both of Anne’s parents traveling extensively before she was born. While growing up in several different states, Anne road tripped with her family across the country and learned the value of travel; it was a definite privilege but also a top priority.
She was first introduced to Paris on a trip during junior year in high school, and in 2001, Anne spent a college semester abroad in Paris where she fell in love with the city. For Anne, she always loved her outsider-insider perspective of the city where she enjoyed being an American in Paris and never let herself succumb to wearing rose-colored glasses.
Anne loves Paris beyond the Eiffel Tower and perfectly baked pastries but describes her intimacy with the ordinary aspects of life in Paris. What some might find mundane. She loves her long walks, getting lost in a neighborhood, and enjoying the (oh, so perfect) french butter.
