127: Identity Imprisonment
The Money Love Podcast
02/06/24 • 46 min
The two most powerful words available to us at our disposal are "I am...". These two words will convey the identities you hold about yourself and will also create your reality becuase of the way your brain is wired to work and prove your beliefs true. Your identities will either empower you or disempower you, liberate you or imprision you, or be the fuel to getting what you want or the roadblock keeping you from it. This is why what you believe to be true about you is some of the most powerful beliefs that you hold.
In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast, Paige is breaking down the concept of identity imprisonment. She is diving into what it is, why it matters, why our brains are so attached to the identities that we hold, how your current identities are imprisoning you, and also her three best mindset shifts to be liberated and empowered by your identity rather than imprisoned by it. This could possibly be on the of the most important episodes and concepts Paige has covered thus far on the podcast and there's no doubt it will be one that challenges you to view yourself in an entirely new light. Enjoy!

10: Money Lies We're Taught
The Money Love Podcast
10/13/20 • 31 min
On this episode of The Money Love Podcast we take a look at the five most common money lies we're taught from a young age that we carry into adulthood.
From the start our understanding of money is influenced by everything around us, making it challenging to determine a fact or someone's opinion. As we grow these lessons our younger-selves learned form our present day reality, shaping how we view and manage money as an adult. If any of our early notions of money are wrong then our foundation for financial success will ultimately be sabotaged.
If we want to have new results with money then we need to leave these five misconceptions behind and form new beliefs about how money truly works in the world. That's exactly what I coach you to do in this episode!

136: The Hedonic Hamster Wheel
The Money Love Podcast
04/02/24 • 42 min
Do you feel like there's always something that you want or desire? There's always a product "finish line" that you're working towards where you tell yourself "once I have ______ I'll finally be happy". If you find yourself in this familiar pattern, you're stuck on the hedonic hamster wheel. The hedonic hamster wheel is a metaphor for the human tendency to pursue one pleasure after another and it can be a viscious never-ending cycle that can derail your spending and finances if we don't take steps to actively slow it down or get off of it entirely.
In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we're diving into the phenomena of hedonic adaptation and breaking down how it impacts our consumption (in not so great ways). In this value-packed episode Paige is breaking down what hedonic adaptation is, how it impacts our consumption, real life examples that you might recognize in yourself, why our brains are wired this way, and the types of consumption that will keep you on and off the hedonic hamster wheel. Enjoy!
