Barton speaks with Elite Triathlon Coach Natasha Van Der Merve about her mindset as an athlete and as a coach of high level athletes like Nick Bare ( BPN - Bare Performance Nutrition). Her no-nonsense approach to supporting, coaching and bringing out the best in her athletes speaks of her love of sport, her belief in her Athletes, and how a coach can take someone to the next level by providing so much value.
Natasha is a professional Ironman triathlete and coach in Austin, Texas working with athletes from all around the world. The podcast episode is jam-packed with her stories of her coaching mindset and how she helps the “whole athlete” to achieve their goals by looking at more than just their training. Born in a small town in South Africa, Natasha was a high-level tennis player and eventually came to the US to compete and teach tennis. At age 27, she discovered triathlons and fell in love with the challenge and complexity of the endurance sport. Today, still competing as a professional, she helps top athletes like Andrea Nunez-Smith and Nick Bare improve in all aspects of their sport.
