[048] Q&A: How to Make a Soft Voice Sound Confident

01/17/21 • 21 min

The Leadership Pod

How can you make a soft voice sound confident? This is a question I commonly receive from emerging leaders. Many people have a soft voice. And this can prevent you from sounding confident and assertive in business.

This is a situation that I’ve faced in my life, particularly in my early 20s. Since then I’ve learned how to incorporate communication strategies so that I sound more confident and assertive.

In this episode, I delve into the question of “How can you make a soft voice sound confident” and provide a structured answer with actionable strategies you can implement. I also share a personal story of how I’ve had to overcome a soft voice in my life.

You will learn about:

  • A situation I faced on the phone when I was job searching.
  • What is the the upswing, why it’s so bad, and how to combat it.
  • Why using the other person’s name in conversation is so important, and how to do it.
  • The limiting belief that is created by having a naturally loud voice.
  • Two communication strategies to soften a loud voice.
