In this first episode I share my heart behind the “Journey to Becoming”, and what I hope to it mean for your life as well.
I am taking you back to about 5 years ago when a friend was praying over me and shared that she felt God telling me to slow down. Slowing down was the absolute furthest thing from my mind. I was team “I can do everything all at the same time” and I wanted to run my race at MY pace. Well, that was a recipe for disaster, burn out and overwhelm.
Can you relate? Wanting to do all the things, saying yes to everyone and everything that came your way?! God was trying to get a hold of me, but I was too busy-yikes! I wanted to wear all the metaphorical “hats” in life...
God began to remind me that the most important title that I would ever have was first being His daughter. I had to make the decision to first operate out of that identity and not look for my worth in all the other titles.
This Journey to Becoming is allowing God to pull everything out of us the He has already placed on the inside of us. It is operating out of our God-given identity to become who we are! Through this framework I have personally seen so much healing, freedom & restoration and I know the same can take place for you too.
There are four areas that make up our Journey to Becoming & I share what those areas entail. I cannot wait to hear the action that you will begin to take on your own personal Journey to Becoming. This is truly, the start of something new!
I pray this blesses you,
Xoxo Coach Joy

Are you sick and tired of feeling stuck in life?
Do you deal with crippling fear & doubt that can invade your mind at any given moment and weighs you down mentally?
Do you find yourself struggling with your self-worth and confidence when it comes to putting yourself first?

Hey, I’m Joy Johnson. Your new bestie, coach, mentor and sister in Christ that cannot wait to speak life into you and activate you to take action in the life that you have been so blessed with.
I remember the days where I was hiding behind the very things that were robbing me of all of my time and energy. I was crippled by fear of failure, the opinions of others and lacked major boundaries. Not to mention allowing my relationship with God to be on the back burner because hello- there was no time for that. That was a recipe for disaster that quickly led to burn out and frustration.
It wasn’t until I realized that I was absolutely not alone, and so many other women were struggling with the same things that I began to be honest with myself. I have since been able to apply a framework in structuring my life that has changed everything for the better.
Through this podcast I will share with you HOW to:
- Discover, design & develop the vision that God has for you
- Simplify your daily systems to bring transformation in your mental, emotional & physical health
- Embrace the power of consistency and release the perfectionistic mindset once and for all
- Heal from your past and not let it hinder your future
- Find joy in your Journey to Becoming all that God has created you to be

09 | Sharing my Testimony Part 1- The "Joy" behind the Journey, navigating loss from suicide & overcoming toxic family patterns
The Journey to Becoming | Christian Living, Personal Development, Planning, Thriving Relationships, Routines, Personal Growth, Christian Women, Motherhood, Time Management, Schedules, Reduce Overwhelm
04/22/24 • 25 min
In this episode I am sharing with you about my personal testimony and what God has done in my life. I lost my mom when I was 6 years old, she had succumbed to a deep depression and took her own life. Growing up without a mom I had to navigate feeling “less than” which contributed to a heavy lack/poverty mentality. I share some defining moments growing up as I began to share about the loss and realized that there was healing in speaking about the pain. My empathy grew for others so deeply that I began to keep a journal to remind me to check in on my friends and to be there for them in any way that I could.
The healing & restoration that has taken place in my life is something that can only be done through God. I have realized that the isolation that my mom dealt with is so common for us women. The enemy wants to isolate us all thinking that no one cares or knows what we are going through and that is the furthest thing from the truth. There is nothing that we can do to separate us from the love of God and I pray that through listening you are encouraged and reminded that however “stuck” you may be feeling in life, your life is worth living and showing up for.
It is through my painful past of deep loss that has birthed my passion for helping women live out their full potential. Remember to always be kind, you may never know what someone is going through.

07 | Releasing the past version of yourself, to make room for all that you are becoming as a woman of God
The Journey to Becoming | Christian Living, Personal Development, Planning, Thriving Relationships, Routines, Personal Growth, Christian Women, Motherhood, Time Management, Schedules, Reduce Overwhelm

We all know that “nothing changes if nothing changes”, but what does that mean for you as a woman of God who is on her journey to becoming all that God created you to be?! We are talking all about that in today’s episode.
Why is it so hard to release the old patterns?! They are what has shaped so much of our lives and can very often be all that we know and so comfortable. I know that what God wants to do within your life will absolutely be worth the WORK that it will take to become all that He has already placed inside of you.
What will you have to leave behind? What old patterns? What old mindsets? Maybe for you, it’s relationships, because we cannot take everyone with us on this journey either. I am confident that after listening to this episode you will have a better idea of what you need to leave and all of what God has waiting for you to step into!

Hey friend! Have you ever had one of those days where you were like ummm God where are you, I need you! I need a word, I need encouragement over my life. You are secretly longing for someone to text you or ask how you are doing?! I cannot be the only one...Well, my friend, this may just be the encouragement that you needed today!
I felt this in my spirit and wanted to be obedient so I am sharing one of my favorite verses with you and declaring a prayer over your life today as well. Sometimes as believers we can quickly fall into the limiting belief that we are all alone and that is the absolute furthest thing from the truth!
In the midst of the mundane in our day to day and humanity, God’s love, joy & peace will never run out or fail us!

In honor of May being Mental Health Awareness month we are taking a look at different areas that mental health shows up in. As women inside and outside of the church this is something that we all deal with probably more than we would like to admit. Pastor Marie shares practical ways to “exchange the conversation” that will lead to life change. The choice is up to us!
I am confident that after listening to this episode that is full of encouragement, biblical truth and beautiful imagery- you will have a few more “tools in your arsenal” to experience new levels of freedom and healing.

08 | Emotional Health- What is it and how it could be the missing piece to your transformation as a Christian Woman
In this episode we explore what Emotional Health is for those that may not fully understand what it actually is and how to grow in this area. Emotional Health has played a huge role in my transformation into all I am becoming as a wife, mom, daughter, mentor, coach etc , but first I had to quit. QUIT?! You may be thinking, “isn’t quitting bad?!” Well, not in this case, it has been the HEALTHIEST thing I have done.
Exploring the layers of Emotional Health from a Biblical perspective has brought what used to be past pain into new levels of freedom. This has been a foundational part of healing for the Joyful Fit Life Community as well- and will continue to be; so we can all step into who we are becoming. One of the ways that Emotional Health was introduced to me was through the book “ The Emotionally Healthy Woman”- a definite must read, and read again, highlight, take notes- all of the things!
I will share the Top 3 Principles that stood out to me of the 8 that are covered in this book in hopes that you not only can relate, but realize that you are not ALONE! We are in this together Woman of God, let’s continue to heal and change the trajectory of our lives and the lives of those we impact!
