Erin Whalen – Compassionate Coaching
In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother’s Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with Erin Whalen.
Erin Whalen is the Founder of Compassionate Coaching, which guides teams in the helping profession, especially bereavement professionals, to get through their days with more ease.
The impact Compassionate Coaching wants to have on the world is the following:
· To restore dignity to the grieving and the dying,
· and to help them feel seen and heard,
· by filling the cups of, and providing communication tools to, those who serve them.
Erin firmly believes that her life, so far, has led her to this place and this business. She has her own stories of grief, as we all do. For Erin, coming to terms with her life-long anticipatory grief has been quite a journey. The youngest of 4 children, she was born into a family where her older sister had a very severe disability. Erin knew that she would outlive her sister.
In 2016, her sister died, and in 2020, Erin founded Compassionate Coaching, though it still took over a year to find her focus.
Now, she uses her background as an Actor, Trainer, Facilitator, Role Player, and Playback Theatre Practitioner to design and implement Compassionate Coaching's offerings. She specializes in providing safe spaces for teams and individuals to learn and grow through highly interactive modalities.
