04/24/22 • 12 min
Welcome to the Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Ute Steyer looks at Masechet Yevamot, Daf 48.
Once a person has converted, even if he regrets and returns to his old faith or converts to another religion, in Jewish law he is considered nevertheless a Jew.
Is there such a thing as forced conversion to Judaism? The intuitive answer is no, but looking closer at the gemarra we will see that it isn’t such a clear cut answer. We look at the case of a slave or captive woman.
The opening and closing music for this podcast is Ufros from The Epichorus album One Bead.
