Week 32: Sex and Porneia
09/01/23 • 26 min
This episode contains conversations about very mature topics. Parents and guardians are warned to exercise caution when allowing younger viewers to listen.
We begin our monthly journey into the topic of sin with this apologetics week. In this episode, we explore the sin of sexual immorality. This sin has affected our lives far more than we may realize. It has pierced the church and the lives of those in it more than anyone wants to admit. We must face this struggle head-on. That is why we will discuss the topic this apologetics week and offer Biblical solutions to avoid giving in to sexual temptation.
- We primarily focus on three Scripture passages for our readings this week. First, we read about Joseph's flee from temptation in Genesis 39. Second, we read about the writer of Proverbs observing the young man going somewhere he shouldn't in Proverbs 7. Lastly, we learn who will not inherit the Kingdom of God and what we must do to enter it in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
- We look forward to seeing you again next Friday!

Week 31: P is for Perseverance of the Saints
Our study of the Reformed doctrine of T.U.L.I.P. comes to an end as we examine the final letter in the acrostic: P for Perseverance of the Saints. We will explore what theologians like R.C. Sproul and Charles H. Spurgeon have had to say about this teaching. From there, we will dive into common objections against the Perseverance of the Saints as well as the rebuttals to these objections through the works of people like Dr. James White and John MacArthur. Then, of course, none of this truly matters if we do not have the Scriptures to back up the claims made for the Reformed position, so naturally, we will move to what the Holy Scriptures have to say and how they support the teaching.
We hope you have enjoyed this bi-weekly study of the doctrine of T.U.L.I.P.! If you have then please let us know. Week 33: So, you've sinned. What now?
As we continue our study of sin and how a Christian should respond, we come to the question: What do we do after sinning? How should we respond? Sin is something that we have, will, and will continue to struggle with. This opens a lot of discussions where a lot of people may take different approaches. Yet, we will attempt to stay streamlined in our conversation. We must also discuss one thing: if Christ's blood covers us and our sins, then does that mean we can sin over and over again? Listen along as we dive into what the Holy Scriptures say.
There are three passages of Scripture that we will focus on during this study: Psalm 51 (ESV), Romans 3:23-26 (ESV), and Acts 3:19 (NLT).
We look forward to seeing you again next Friday!
