In this episode of The IoClothes Podcast, we speak with Hello everyone and welcome. I am your host Ben Cooper, and today we’ll be speaking with Jackie Trebilcock, Managing Director of the New York Fashion Tech Lab. As we’ve said in the past, the players necessary to usher in the future of a digitally connected future are diverse. This week speak with Jackie about what The New York Fashion Tech Lab is doing to build community, develop relationships and created a business development platform. Interestingly, their program focuses on women-led fashion technology start-ups innovating at the intersection of fashion, retail, and technology.
In this episode we won’t be talking about product but another important piece to equation as companies look to build “smarter” businesses.

#021: Light May Be The Answer To Making Textiles “Smart” with H. Lee Wainwright - Wearable Tech 2.0 is here! We speak with the thought-leaders and innovators leading the smart apparel, footwear and textile revolution.
In this episode of The IoClothes Podcast, we speak with inventor and e-textiles pioneer, H. Lee Wainwright. With the absolute utmost of respect, he’s a mad scientist! This was one of the most interesting and unique conversations I’ve had in the e-textiles world, and the demo I was shown stuck with me for a very long while after. The best way I can describe what I witness was a cross between an E.T. figure and an elaborate Christmas tree. Listen, Lee has been in the business for a while and led some incredible initiatives, from illuminating outfits that Britney Spears wore during her world tours to auction items showcased on the Rosie O’Donnell Show to projects with Disney and much more!
The focus of our conversation is on his new Opti-CouplerTM, which at its core is a fiber-optic technology. What’s also interesting is Lee is inviting developers and fellow inventors to source the material of his system and collaborate!
Hold on and listen up because this just may be the solution to your challenges!
