Have you heard of Matrescence? If the answer is No and you are feeling stuck overwhelmed and like you've lost who you are in Motherhood this is the Podcast for you.
I'm Natasha a Mum and Therapist and my goal as a Mother is to show my kids that happiness isn't just a myth you read about in fairy tales. I'm on a journey to normalise the transition we go through as Mothers and help you not just survive it but create lives that feel even better than they did before you became a parent.

6 years and 2 kids and I dont know how many clients down one thing I can safely say I see again and again that sucks away our joy is trying to control and micromanage everything our children do.
It makes sense when you become a Mum you feel completely out of control so the obvious thing to try and control is our kids. Their sleep, diet, schedules and behaviour can become the benchmark of whether we are succeeding or failing in life.
This episode is about letting go and accepting children like adults are all different and how we can enjoy Motherhood so much more when we let go.

"I don't remember Summer holidays as a time of joy or laughter. I remember my Mum being really stressed, juggling so much and putting us in whatever club had space. Like many, my Mum found having young children really challenging. As a Mum who is determined to break cycles, I know that’s not how I want to feel, nor how I want my children to feel—as burdens who make my life hard.

Let’s be honest, we are going to be stretched thinner over Summer. One thing I know for sure is that Summer will make me even more grateful for how fortunate my kids are to have such an amazing school and free education. But with the right support and strategies, my goal is to create a Summer that not only my kids love but I do too. I hate that post that says we only have 18 Summers, but we do, and I want my kids to remember me as a Mum who was fun, laughed a lot, and just loved being their Mum.

Join me as I share a few tips on how I'm going to make that happen. Tune in for practical strategies, fun ideas, and heartfelt insights to create a magical Summer that your whole family will cherish."

The Imperfect Mum - My top tips to make your Maternity leave magical.
play

06/10/24 • 21 min

This week on the podcast I share my tips to start enjoying maternity. I know having a new baby is a lot but it can also be so much fun, I loved my first Matrenity leave. Second time round not so much because I couldn't t do any of these things as it was lockdown.
You dont have to be on maternity to get value from this episode if you are really struggling and not getting any time to yourself I share how I still made time for me, my friends, family, my relationships and even studying because I new as soon as I became a Mum I needed to leave my job and start working for myself.
I would like to caveat I had a very easy baby and all babies are different, but if you do have a baby who cries a lot or doesnt sleep you dont just have to suffer alone and accept that's how motherhood feels.
When we feel calmer and happier our children get to feel that and anything you can do to make life feel less overwhelming will only benefit them.
