- Interview: An interview podcast features a host interviewing one or more guests on a particular topic.
- Conversation: A conversation podcast is typically hosted by two or more people and involves a more casual conversation about a variety of topics.
- Narrative: A narrative podcast tells a story or presents information in a narrative format, often with sound effects and music to enhance the listening experience.
- News: A news podcast provides updates and analysis on current events or issues.
- Educational: An educational podcast aims to teach listeners about a particular subject or provide information on a specific topic.
- Comedy: A comedy podcast is focused on entertaining listeners with jokes and humorous content.

Setting up Your Podcast on Your YouTube Channel and a Warning For Your Show Notes - The Daily Dave - Podcasting Tips
The Daily Dave - Have you set up your podcast on YouTube yet? Need help? I can help you!
My YouTube Podcast has landed on page one of Google Search for my show!
You should be there. Here is a tip - set up your YouTube Channel under a new Gmail Account separate from your everyday email account - just in case - and beware!
A bad link to a guest's website can get you in trouble - listen to what happened to me! I included a link to a guests website that was fine when the podcast was released and then months later, something happened to my guest's site - it was flagged and YouTube sent me a nasty warning that a bad link to an external site was a violation hit for my channel! So, instead of having the entire site address like - https://howtopodcast.ca/ in your show notes - you might want to future proof your notes with howtopodcast.ca instead. You have NO CONTROL over what happens to your guest's website, so if want to be safe, drop the clickable link and shorten it to avoid breaking a guideline for YouTube!
If you need help with your podcast contact https://howtopodcast.ca/ - My website is safe, so all good here! See you there!

E51 - Nail Down Your Topic - The Podcast Owner's Manual Mini Series
Welcome to our Podcast Owner's Manual Mini Series - Part 1
Nail Down Your Topic you have to have something to podcast about
Choosing a topic for your content can be challenging, but here are a few things you can consider to help you decide:
- Think about your passions and interests. What are you knowledgeable about or interested in learning more about? Chances are, if you are passionate about a subject, you will be more motivated to create content about it.
- Consider your target audience. Who do you want to reach with your content? What topics would be of interest to them?
- Look at what's popular. What are people talking about or interested in right now? You don't necessarily want to follow trends blindly, but it can be helpful to know what's currently popular in your field.
- Do some research. Look at other content in your industry and see what topics are being covered. You don't want to copy what others are doing, but you can get ideas and see what gaps in the market exist that you could potentially fill.
- Test out a few ideas. If you're still unsure, try creating some content on a few different topics and see how it is received. This can help you gauge what resonates with your audience and what doesn't.
Ultimately, the best topic for your content will depend on your interests, audience, and goals. It's important to choose a topic that you are knowledgeable about and can create meaningful content for.

Being Quiet When Your Guest Speaks - The Daily Dave - Podcasting Tips
To save time in editing, and, when you are hosting with a guest on your show,
Stay quiet while your guests speak!
It is so tempting to drop in simple phrases like “yes” and “right” and “okay” while your guests speak.
Those are natural parts of language that we use without realizing, but they can distract your listeners.
Yes, you can remove them during editing, but that’s a lot of unnecessary work.
It’s easier to train yourself to limit interjections and allow your guest or co-host to complete their thought.
Learning to be an active listener can translate beyond your podcast - you can be a better listener at work, in your home, with family and friends!
When you have a guest on your show, it is about them! Let them talk. Be engaging without being in the way!
If you need help with your podcast, if you are looking for an inclusive podcast community focused on you, if you are looking for a caring coach - not a snarky judge, head over to our site - we would love to connect with you today!
