Editor Notes:

The previous found footage film Tasha was thinking of was Antrum: The Deadliest Film Ever Made, which we covered in episode 44.

The quote that Scarlet says as they are crawling into the cave with the Dante inscription over the entrance is actually: “And they shall be made to crawl on their bellies to enter the kingdom of darkness” [not inferno, oops].

And finally, I did some research into the story about the camcorder found in the catacombs that the movie is based on. It seems to be widely believed to be a hoax at this point. Many of the articles I found (mostly on Reddit and horror blogs) think it was staged for the a show called “Scariest Places on Earth” that came out in 2000. The footage is only about a minute long - it’s mostly of someone walking quickly through a tunnel - it’s incredibly poor quality since it is from the ‘90s - and then they drop the camera and take a quick step past it.
