Raleigh NC Artist and Podcaster Jackie Sanders joins Allie this week to discuss her creative process, her art and business podcast, Level Up Artist, and how she's transforming life's mundane moments into art!

Meet My Guest!
Transforming life’s mundane moments into memorable experiences, my work explores the constant push and pull that each of us faces in our day-to-day lives. As I layer and manipulate abstract gestural marks with crisp geometric lines, my work explores the in-betweens - the space between tension and calm, light and shadow, gestural and rigid marks, and the resistance and release of control.
Opposing elements pull your eye across the panel allowing the viewer to travel in between elements as they seek stability in the chaos. Encouraging others to actively choose the future they are creating, my mission is to help others feel more connected to their minds, bodies, and the spaces in which they exist.

Prepare for an enlightening journey as we sit down with the incredibly talented indie author, K. Sterling, who has captivated readers with her successful 'Nannies of New York series. This episode is packed with invaluable insights into K's unique process of story creation, starting with a mere vibe and masterfully crafting scenes to induce chemistry between characters. We dive deep into reading craft books and K's golden advice for emerging authors.
We then navigate the often turbulent waters of genre-switching and the associated challenges and rewards. K offers an unfiltered account of her departure from one series to the next, which entailed a change in her writing style, a publishing house setback, and the daunting task of rebuilding her brand. We also get an exclusive preview into K's upcoming projects, including the sapphic cottage summer bonanza, 'The Enchanting Nanny,' and a gripping FBI trilogy tainted with a hint of witchcraft.
As we prepare to wrap up, we delve into the emotional challenge of releasing personal work into the public sphere and the vital role self-belief plays in a writer's journey. K candidly shares her struggles with imposter syndrome and provides practical advice on how to overcome it. So, come on board for an inspiring journey into the captivating world of writing with the remarkable K Sterling.

Owner of Stitch Morgantown, Angie Miller, joins Allie on today's episode to discuss her journey from running her Etsy shop to running a storefront shop in Morgantown, WV. We discussed what it was like to decide to open a storefront and what resources she used to do just that!
More About My Guest:
Hi, I am Angie Miller, owner of Stitch, mom to 10-year-old kiddo, and a 13 1/2-year-old black and tan mini doxie, Charlie. I spent over 13 years dedicated to hospice and home health nursing, and I don't want to let those skills get too rusty. I also still do some moonlighting as an RN in addition to my time at Stitch. Never know when I might need to call those nurse-y skills into action.
Sewing and crafting have been a love that dates back much longer than being a nurse. My mom taught me to cross Stitch in 1st grade (age 7ish). I was envious of my friend, Vicki, who had entered a project in the local fair and won a ribbon. (I later found out she was very envious of some sweet grey suede loafers I possessed.) I wanted to learn so I could win a ribbon too!
I continued to do local shows and sell on Etsy, but the dream of being able to do it full time was still just that...a dream. In 2014, amid a significant job change, I started working on an actual business plan and set a goal of making my dream a reality by turning 40 (which occurred in late 2018). On January 29th, 2018, Stitch Morgantown, LLC., officially opened its' doors for business!
