I read a quote recently from Carey Lohrenz that said, “Most people don’t want to be part of the process, they just want to be part of the outcome. But the process is where you figure out who’s worth being a part of the outcome.”
Years ago I started helping the wise Christian sage Lonnie Jones, do ropes courses and experiential groups in Huntsville, Alabama. Eventually I was able to start some of my own groups that I call TEAM, which stands for Teaching, Experiencing, Applying, and Motivating.
In those groups we like to do various challenges with our participants and then follow that up with some debriefing. The hope is that the experience and following discussion of the fun and challenging event will help them find application to their every day circumstances — whether family, work, or athletic team.
One of those debriefs includes the question: “Which is more important, the product or the process?”

Soak It Up
Welcome to the Friday Refresh brought to you by Liberte ministries at TravisLovesHaiti.com.
This Sunday some people will celebrating their father who is in the prime of his life. Some dads will be celebrating their first ever Father’s Day.
Others people will be thinking of their Father that is no longer with them. Still more will struggle because their relationship wasn’t great with their dad.
I have no idea where you are in this and it’s impossible to say something that will help you all. But let me simply say this... and you can apply it to whatever relationship you find it appropriate.
Don’t take any moment for granted.
So if you are a dad - Happy Father’s Day and soak it up. They grow up and it happens faster than I could believe.
If you have your dad still around do your best to show that you appreciate him for the time and energy he put into you... or at the very least thank him for giving you life.
If you no longer have your dad - then take a moment and reflect on the things he taught you - in his action, his words, or his mistakes that you have learned from and adjusted your life to do better than he did.
Just don’t take any moment for granted. With your dads, your moms, your grandparents, or your kids. Soak it up. These moments don’t last forever.
So do all you can to make today, tomorrow, Sunday, and every moment beyond that day the absolute best it can be.
