#9 Advertising Alcohol on Meta 101 with Lucy Brandram
The Freelance Ads Club Podcast
11/04/22 • 23 min
Today has a few firsts; my first ever guest on the podcast, my guest Lucy's first ever podcast, first time for tech gremlins! And I'm still getting over how depressing is it that no one ever checks my ID anymore whatever the age restrictions now are!
This week I am talking about booze, without a gin in sight unfortunately, but more accurately, what you need to consider if you're ever approached by alcohol brands that want you to work on paid ads. Now this question has come up in various memberships groups, chats, all these things that I'm involved in, and I always think; I'm not sure. So I got in touch with Lucy, one of our Freelance Ads Clubbers and invited her to share some of her wisdom, what she has learned along the way, what help there is for anyone with a new client in this space, and what are the creative challenges you need to be aware of - which some of your clients won't even know.
****************************************************************************************
This week's guest is Lucy Brandram, a freelance Facebook & Instagram Ads manager and social media trainer who is focused on helping businesses that have both passion and purpose to scale. She helps clients build an effective business using Facebook & Instagram Ads and organic social media marketing with a particular focus on remaining sustainable.
She's worked with alcohol brands, leading independent tea brands, health and fitness businesses as well as sustainable businesses from construction to outdoor clothing over her freelance career. You can reach her at: https://www.76media.co.uk/, https://www.instagram.com/76_social/ OR https://www.linkedin.com/in/lucy-brandram-facebookads/
The Portman Group Lucy references as a resource can be found here.

#17 Life after Facebook Ads with Amanda Perry
The Freelance Ads Club Podcast
12/30/22 • 45 min
Welcome to Episode 17, of the Freelance Ads Club Podcast. Today, I am joined by Amanda Perry, the serial entrepreneur and former owner of Soup Agency.
I invited Amanda on the podcast because she has had such a varied career. And I just thought as ads managers, most of us can relate because not everyone starts their careers as an ads manager.
I wanted to understand what Amanda's other businesses were, what she learned from all of those different business models, and also when she knew that it was time to try something new.
We all know, careers chop and change. They're squiggly, and sometimes they don't serve you anymore. It's good to know when to persevere, and when it's time to move on. This is what I gained from Amanda in this episode, and so much more, on finding her happy.
To contact Amanda directly either jump on her website: www.amandaperry.co.uk, or follow her @amandaperry

#8 How to nail cold outreach to grow your business with Charlie Williams, Paradigm Media
The Freelance Ads Club Podcast
07/28/23 • 39 min
One of my most frequently asked questions is how to win clients from cold outreach.
It's not something I do so, I called the only person I know who has grown his agency quickly in a year by learning the skills to implement a cold outreach strategy effectively.
In this episode, Charlie explains how his dropshipping side hustle, while playing football in Australia, became his new obsession. Soon after discovering eCommerce, it became Charlie's passion and he quit football. The rest is history.
Charlie speaks about working for different agencies, then taking the leap to start his business Paradigm Media. The business has gone from strength to strength in less than a year, now standing at a team of 3 people and growing. 🙌
