11/02/17 • 47 min

Shawn Helvey is the founder of ManMade Mentors, a hybrid therapy and mentoring service that helps young men find their path. Shawn is something of a savant when it comes to connecting and guiding young guys, and in this episode he shares his personal story of being somewhat "stuck" in a delayed or prolonged adolescence himself. He was lost and was fortunate to have the guidance and experiences to get his crap together. Now his passion is to do the same for others.

At Evryman we believe deeply that we need and can support our young men with more honesty, more clarity, and more connection. We envision a world where men of all ages have mentors and supportive peers. We believe that we don't have to do it alone.

The EVRYMAN Podcast - Episode 024: Alysse Doty #metoo
play

10/18/17 • 68 min

This episode is an intimate conversation with my amazing wife Alysse Doty. She boldly and courageously shares her experience with sexual abuse, assault and rape, and how it has affected her life up until this day.

Men, we have an opportunity right now to slow down, be quiet, and listen to the pain of women who are sharing. We have an opportunity to sit with that pain and that discomfort all the way, and let it impact us. We can start online by reading women's stories, and we can speak with candor and vulnerability to those we love, those we've hurt, and those we want to protect. We can take responsibility and we can work for change, but first of all it starts with feeling the impact of whats real.

The EVRYMAN Podcast - Episode 025: Jason Mraz and Jon Marro
play

10/24/17 • 79 min

This episode was recorded the day after the Evryman Yellowstone retreat, held in September 2017. Jason and Jon were 2 of 12 guys that showed up to Montana to dive deep into themselves and nature, shoulder-to-shoulder with a group of incredible men.

In a day and age where articles are written on the decline of male friendship, Jason and Jon buck this trend and speak of shared bonds built around creativity, spirituality, and simply staying in close contact as life flows and maturation happens.

Jason Mraz is a grammy award winning singer-songwriter and is currently starring in his first Broadway play, Waitress. Jon Marro is the author of the upcoming The Keepers of Color, a wild new book coming out in April, 2018. Respectively, you can find their work at www.jasonmraz.com and www.jonmarro.com.
