Ep 27: Are Vegans 43% More Likely to Break Bones Compared to Meat Eaters?
The Disclosure Podcast
12/07/20 • 39 min
During the past couple of weeks there has been a media frenzy surrounding an EPIC-Oxford study that concluded that vegans have a higher risk of bone fractures. Headlines such as, "Meat-free diets linked with greater risk of breaking bones" and, "‘It is a worry’: The truth about veganism and bone health" littered news websites and flooded onto social media. Even Joe Rogan shared the study, as even though he has often criticised epidemiology that supports veganism, he clearly considers this to be damning evidence for his very public feelings towards veganism.
Listen to find out:
- Are vegans really at a 43% higher risk of fracturing bones? Especially hips fractures?
- Are we biased as vegans against studies like this, and how should we react to it?
- Is there dubious funding behind this study?

Ep 23: Why the Hunting Argument Doesn't Hold Up - What to Say if You're Arguing with a Hunter
The Disclosure Podcast
07/24/20 • 55 min
"Look, I hunt my own animals. I'm connected to nature, and I'm helping the environment. Haven't you heard about overpopulation and the importance of hunting for conservation?"
In this episode I expand fully on my recent YouTube upload, where I debunked Joe Rogan's arguments for hunting. In today's episode I expand on the morality of hunting, the environmental arguments that hunters use, as well as offering advice on what to say if you're faced with a discussion with a hunter who presents you with these claims.

Ep 10: Staying Hopeful & Present in the Face of Animal Exploitation - In Conversation with Jo-Anne Mcarthur
The Disclosure Podcast
02/17/20 • 46 min
Jo-Anne McArthur is a multi award-winning photographer, author and public speaker. Through her work We Animals, Jo-Anne documents the ‘invisible animals’ across the globe, the animals we eat, wear, test on and enslave, yet rarely see. Her award-winning work is frequently featured in high profile publications such as National Geographic, The Guardian and The Washington Post. I sit down with Jo-Anne to discuss her powerful work, the impact that it has, and also the effect that it has had on her. How can we as vegans, handle animal suffering? And how can we improve and be more present as animal rights activists?

Ep 16: Can We Stop a Future Pandemic? - In Conversation with Dr. Michael Greger M.D
The Disclosure Podcast
04/15/20 • 33 min
Dr. Greger is a physician, New York Times bestselling author, and internationally recognised speaker on nutrition, food safety, and public health issues. Dr Greger has also worked on the human health implications of intensive animal agriculture, including the routine use of non-therapeutic antibiotics and growth hormones in animals raised for food, and the public health threats of industrial factory farms. In his speech from over a decade ago, ‘Pandemics: History & Prevention’, Dr Greger spoke about the inextricable link between animal use and zoonotic disease, as well as the dangers associated with industrialised farming of birds and pigs. In this episode of The Disclosure Podcast we discuss those dangers, as well as how to prevent the next pandemic.

Ep 7: The Livestock Haulier Who Let Joaquin Phoenix Go Undercover in His Pig Truck
The Disclosure Podcast
03/27/19 • 95 min
Matt is currently a meat eater who spent several years of his life transporting pigs from farms to slaughterhouses, driving them to their deaths in huge trucks from Utah to Los Angeles. One day, he decided to start filming, ultimately sending his footage to animal rights organisations, as well as to the director of Earthlings, Shaun Monson. This resulted in him taking Joaquin Phoenix on one of the journeys. I speak to Matt in-depth about these experiences, as well as asking him if he still has bacon in his freezer.
