In this episode I talk to Madeline Simson, a Melbourne-based artist specialising in acrylic still lifes featuring citrus fruits, table spreads, and Australian birds. Madeline shares her recent transition from a career in illustration and graphic design to becoming a full-time artist. We discussed the the importance of having a supportive network of friends and family and Maddy talked about the steps she took to get to this point including creating bodies of work and organising her own art shows, which boosted her confidence and exposure. I love that Maddy has a plan to keep exploring and growing her work, and I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring for her!
