The old adage of the show must go on has never been more apt for The Countdown as Wayne pushes through COVID to highlight some of the finer indie films of the last decade or so in this celebration of the very best A24 studio films.

Of course, the guys had to record this week's episode remotely due to Wayne's positive status, and that means the show is minus its third and most valued member, The Soundboard. Wayne, shockingly, thinks this is the highlight of his week, while Paul appropriately commemorates their fallen colleague and wishes it a speedy return.

Beyond that, there's plenty of indie films, some consternation, and a surprising amount of good-natured agreement (Wayne really must be sick!), as The Countdown continues ...

With just four episodes to go in the current iteration of the show, there are some massive topics to tackle, and Wayne and Paul opt to start by naming and shaming the ten films that have most disappointed them.

So excited is Paul that he claims they've done this topic back in the early days of the show (they haven't), while Wayne can barely contain himself as he fires off the hottest of hot, hot takes to set the tone of this Episode. No franchise is safe; no sequel is given quarter. There are no sacred cows here. Just a great many barbecued burgers ready for your consumption. (Don't worry, some of them are tofu. The metaphor just doesn't work if I talk about slaughtering vegetables.)

This week, Dan from Netflix N Swill joins the boys to help countdown his own genius idea: The Top 10 Fist Pumping Television Moments. Which, to be clear, is about those moments that absolutely had you leaping off the couch, yelling "Yessssss!" and, for a precious few seconds, rendering everything in your world perfect.

Prepare yourselves, then, for a Countdown unlike any other, as Dan goes "Full Dan" with more of a particular type of genre than has been mentioned throughout the combined previous 389 episodes of the show. Then there's Wayne all but frothing at the mouth while discussing some of his choices, as he touches on everything from childhood classics to personal hits; while Paul just tries to keep the show from going completely off the rails - even though it still gets to a Gerald-Morris-patience-testing 90 minutes. Who will have the superior Daredevil moment? Has Netflix N Swill yet been taken down by Netflix, and which television fight scene rules them all?
