In this difficult episode, Gabi interviews Kristen Overholt, LMHC regarding self-harm. Kristen has worked extensively with clients suffering from self-harm. She has a background in full-time residential treatment centers. Before joining Coral Gables Counseling Center Kristen worked with Oliver Pyatt, an eating disorder treatment center.
As therapists, Kristen and Gabi explore what self-harm entails. What it is and what it isn’t. The population that it covers. They also discuss how parents can talk with their kids about self-harm. What are the signs?
This episode was a learning process for both me (Emy) and Gabi. Hopefully, you too will learn from Kristen, as we did.
