005 | A conversation with Dr. Nathan Eric Dickman, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of the Ozarks
04/14/23 • 132 min
In today's episode I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. Dickman, in what is until now the longest episode of the show! I honestly don't know how did I believe that this was not going to be the longest episode so far, but it was so worthy! So many questioning about different things... are grades important? what really matters in life? A podcast that makes and doesn't make sense, all in one episode. We also talked about the life of Dr. Dickman, his background and how he ended up working at the University of the Ozarks, through his career and academic path, and among other curiosities, why does he call himself as "Aspiring troublemaker & Antiracist".

004 | A conversation with Larry Graham, director of Public Safety at the University of the Ozarks
Although Clarksville, Arkansas is relatively safe, it is not free from criminal activity. The University of the Ozarks is a pillar in Clarksville, and from time to time, it also faces some criminal cases. In today's episode, we talk with Mr. Larry Graham, former police officer and actual director of Public Safety for the University of the Ozarks. We will talk about his background, studies, and life as a police officer, as well as talking about his actual position as director of Public Safety. We will touch base on important topics such as crimes in the University of the Ozarks, talking about the Annual Security & Fire Safety Report, which describes criminal cases in & off campus, such as rape cases, and how the university handles those cases. We also discuss whether or not a rape allegation should be enough to enforce action against a student and what are the options for a victim and how the university acts in cases like that. 006 | A conversation with Larry Isch, journalist and Director of Public and Media Relations at the University of the Ozarks
In today's episode I had the pleasure to talk with Larry Isch, a journalist and the Director of Public and Media Relations at the University of the Ozarks. He has been working at Ozarks for almost 27 years, and we talk about how his job has evolved from the first years, how he was the only person in charge in Ozarks in jobs that nowadays are done by six or seven other staff at the university, about how he, along with a then Walton Scholar designed the first website for the University of the Ozarks. Also, we will talk about his career as journalist, and his interests and work in Sports Information, the ethics in journalism and how polarized information is these days, and about ChatGPT and how it could change the landscape in the communications field, and whether or not this field is in risk of being substituted by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
