The Bus Driver Experience

Gerry McNamara is a former player and currently an assistant coach at Syracuse University. Gerry's time on the court were legendary. He won a National Championship his freshman year with Carmello Anthony and throughout his time at Syracuse he had some of the most legendary college basketball moments. His Big East Tournament Championship round was legendary!

After a short stint playing professionally in the NBA, D-League and overseas Gerry stepped into a GA position for the 2009-2010 season and in his first year helped coach a #1 tournament team. In four of McNamara’s six seasons as an assistant coach, the Orange have invitations to the NCAA Tournament. Twice the team has advanced to the Final four. He has tutored NBA first-round draft picks Dion Waiters, Michael Carter-Williams, Michael Gbinije, and Tyler Ennis.

I created The Bus Driver Experience as a way to gain a new perspective from the unique lives of other people - Olympic athletes, monks, porn stars - to not just learn, but EXPERIENCE what it’s like to be in their shoes for a day.

And do it in a way unlike how every other travel/interview show does it. Most other shows merely talk with these individuals.

But talking with these people isn’t enough for me.

I want to live their unique story. To understand not only what they go through in their day to day, but also why they’re doing it. Follow me on YouTube for videos of the experiences with my guests, and other content.

Self-Help and Therapy in a Shot Glass - John Kim (The Angry Therapist) - Ep. 33

John Kim (The Angry Therapist) pioneered the online life coaching movement seven years ago, after going through a divorce which led to his total re-birth. He quickly built a devoted following of fans who loved the frank and authentic insights that he freely shared on social media. He pulled the curtain back and showed himself by practicing transparency and sharing his story something therapists are taught not to do. Kim became known as an unconventional therapist who worked out of the box by seeing clients at coffee shops, on hikes, in a CrossFit box. He quickly built a coaching team of his own and launched a sister company called JRNI, creating a new way to help people help people and change the way we change.

Johns podcast The Angry Therapist, delivers self-help and therapy in a shot glass, ten minutes or less. Love Hard. Resist Nothing. Self-Help and Therapy in a Shot Glass. I highly suggest you check out Johns podcast wherever you consume podcasts.

I am a big fan of his work. Like the unusual conversations I have on my show John is having conversations with men, women, couples and the youth that most people aren't having. John and I go over not only what it means to be a man in todays day and age but how the generational divide shape dating and relationships.

Please enjoy this episode and check out Johns work below.

Avaneesh Singh aka Overtime Ishu - Bus Driver Experience - Episode 35

Avaneesh Singh wasn't always known as Overtime Ishu but he always had a love for the game of basketball. Ishu originally studied and became an electronics and communication engineer in New Dehli India.

Ishu eventually decided to drop his path of becoming an engineer and got the job editing and managing content for Overtime India.

I met Ishu on my trip to India last December. Ishu showed me all about Indian Basketball. I met a lot of Indian hoopers and even took part in a Mumbai Street Ball Tournament.

Check out my short doc on Ishu on YouTube here.
