Parwiz Zafari’s words, shared in these interviews, echo profoundly – his yearning for Iranians to unite and liberate their nation. Parwiz has held on to the belief that Iran will one day become a free country, and he holds hope that a new generation will carry the torch towards a brighter future for his homeland. As we unveil "Bubjan”, Mahsa Amini’s impact reverberates stronger than ever, fueling a movement that refuses to be silenced.

Comedian Shawn Carter, 'Boston to Bristol' | Writing Jokes and Running a Comedy Club and Making it Work!
Many things changed during the pandemic and for Boston-native comedian Shawn Carter and his wife, that change involved taking on the RV life and accidentally moving to Bristol, Tennessee where Shawn opened the Blue Ridge Comedy Club. Says Shawn, “my wife and I had moved into an RV in February of 2020 and when the world shut down because of covid we ended up living in the town we only planned to visit.” This explains the title of Shawn Carter’s upcoming album Boston to Bristol, which represents his triumphant return with a killer set at Somerville’s The Rockwell.
On the album Shawn talks about the differences he’s noticed between Massachusetts and the South including unique car cultures and suspicious solicitations to go to church, and he shares stories of being an adoptive father and second husband. It’s about differences geographically, but according to Shawn, it’s also about “where I came from academically, financially, and religiously in my younger days and how in many cases that is at odds with where I am now.” He goes on:
“It’s strange to be a community college dropout that grew up with cars that wouldn’t start half the time and be seen as a coastal elite. My dad was a union guy and my mom worked full time as well. Meanwhile, my wife who is from the south, her dad is a neurologist and her mom a librarian.They are all wonderful but my wife and I came from very different backgrounds and I talk about that a bit.”
