06/12/20 • 61 min

THE BODCAST - KENYA
In this Episode we delve deeper into recovery and the importance of sleep. We have touched on the topic of recovery in earlier episodes, but now we get into the science of sleep and stress. We take you into the world of circadian rhythms and what happens when the circadian clock is out of sync. We go into detail why sleep is so important and what happens when you don't get enough sleep. In terms of training and achieving goals we discuss how the one thing that could be letting you down is your recovery! Stress is so interlinked with sleep and recovery, we go into the role o Cortisol and what happens when we live in an chronic state of stress. In this modern world sleep is being seriously compromised by technology, stress, diet and social drug use. We end with some strategies and apps you can use to help prioritise recovery, track your sleep and balance your circadian rhythm. The sleep app we recommend, which is free: Sleep Cycle.

PELVIC HEALTH WITH SPECIALIST SARAH LOUISE PEACOCK

In this episode we are joined by Pelvic Health Specialist, Sarah Louise Peacock. We all feel that Pelvic Health is a subject that is not talked about enough; it is either ignored, considered embarrassing or even taboo. Yet the Pelvic floor is something we all have and particularly for women, prone to dysfunction. Sarah takes us through what the Pelvic Floor actually is and why it is so important. We learn about the common types of dysfunction and how they are very common with many women living with them and thinking that it is normal. We then discuss what a Pelvic Health Specialist does and what happens in a typical session. We get into detail why the Pelvic floor is so important to consider for Pre & Post Natal women. Our main message in this podcast is that we all need to talk about the Pelvic floor more. Talking about it needs to be normalised and awareness and educating spread. Anyone who is a Personal Trainer and trains women should take the responsibility to educate themselves on this topic and make sure their clients are comfortable discussing anything Pelvic health with them and for them to know who to refer out to. If you would like to contact Sarah you can find her on IG: @sarahlouisepeacock or @performance_kenya Her mobile is: 0727 789 970

DISCLAIMER: We are not promoting the use of Anabolics or any other performance enhancing drugs. Neither are we Doctors, Endocrinologists or specialists. This episode is purely general knowledge and for your entertainment. With that said- this episode takes us into an introduction of Anabolics. What they are, what they do, who takes them and why, the pros and cons and some common sense advice to anyone taking them, or thinking about taking them. We feel this topic is very hush hush here in Kenya and needs to be talked about. Taking Anabolics is a very personal choice and we hope, through this podcast to raise awareness and give people the knowledge to make INFORMED choices. Thanks for listening!
