Welcome and thanks for joining us. I’m excited as tonight we are going to be listening to the Psalms being read to classical music.
I’ve been looking forward to this all week.
There are so many Psalms to choose from and an almost unlimited choice of music, but John has selected his favourite three for this episode.
First tonight John is going to read Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd. The music is Beethoven’s Pathetique Piano Sonata in C minor.
Second is psalm 44, and the music is Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem.
And finally, psalm 34, and the music is Hornpipe from Handel’s The Water Music.
Become a Yahway member and enjoy lots of benefits including listening to bonus tracks, downloading the readings with timings, requesting a Bible passage to be read by John and even ask John to record a personal greeting for you or a loved one. There are three tiers to choose from. Sign up now at https://plus.acast.com/s/classically-speaking.
