In this episode of The Armor Men's Health Show, Dr. Mistry address listener questions! The first one is "I had my prostate removed due to prostate cancer. I am experiencing leaking and I was told I was a prime candidate for a pelvic muscle procedure to stop or limit the amount of leaking I currently have. Any suggestions?" The other question is "Hi Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee. Awesome, funny, informative podcast! I'm a 65 male, 5/7, 145 lbs, sport active, eat very healthy, and on no prescribed medications. My problem is low semen volume. I realize this has a lot to do with age, but it's actually been a problem since my 20s. It's really low now even with limited 2x/week masturbation. I have no problems with erections, though. I read a lot about Ashwagandha and Fenugreek supplements that MAY help produce more semen volume and testosterone. After 3 weeks at my physical exam, my doctor told me to stop the supps b/c Fenugreek is for pregnancy and Ashwagandha can be very toxic to the liver. I stopped even though I did notice a slight improvement in just those 3 weeks. Any advice on these supps and increasing semen volume?" GREAT questions! If YOU have a question you'd like answered on the show anonymously, visit our website www.armormenshealth.com and submit your question at the top, right. Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.

In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee answer a patient's question about chronic prostatitis. This condition is often brought on by bacteria and can result in chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, and episodes of bothersome urinary complaints including urinary urgency, leakage, and discomfort after ejaculation. There are many ways to treat chronic prostatitis, including pelvic floor physical therapy, pro- and antibiotics, stress management, and adequate nutrition--most likely a combination of two or more of these approaches will yield the best results. It is important for your urologist to try and determine what is causing your chronic prostatitis, so if you or a loved one struggles with this prostate condition, please give us a call to set up a consultation or to obtain a second opinion.

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.

In this segment, Donna Lee is joined by NAU Urology Specialists' wonderful pelvic floor physical therapist, Dr. Kendel Lipe for another installment of our "That's What She Said" series. Dr. Lipe explains what a pelvic floor physical therapist does and some of the many benefits urology patients can gain from PT, including relief from incontinence; pain with penetration, erection, and/or ejaculation; premature ejaculation; erectile dysfunction; and myofascial pain. Dr. Lipe uses biofeedback to help patients take back control of their nervous system, which regulates so many of the bodily functions we take for granted...until they don't work! Importantly, Dr. Lipe emphasizes that pelvic floor PT doesn't have to be uncomfortable or embarrassing. In an average of 4-6 sessions, patients can learn to tune into their bodies and reduce or eliminate the symptoms that brought them in. If you or someone you love is suffering from any of the issues discussed in this segment, or if you think you might benefit from consulting a pelvic floor physical therapist, please give us a call today!

As you'll recall in previous podcasts with him, Dr. Smith is an Interventional Radiologist partnered with NAU Urology Specialists and is the founder of his very own Summit IR. Dr. Smith will explain how he performs his artery embolization procedures by restricting the blood flow to the organ which minimizes inflammation and growth in areas where it's not needed and/or needs to be mostly suspended. Tune into this fascinating discussion about the coolest and minimally invasive procedures that Dr. Smith offers for enlarged prostate, uterine fibroids and more! Share it with your friends! Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment, Donna Lee is joined by one of NAU Urology Specialists' amazing pelvic floor physical therapists, Dr. Kendel Lipe. Today, Dr. Lipe explains the difference between female ejaculation and "squirting," two related but distinct arousal responses sometimes experienced by women. For those who have them (not everyone does), skene glands in the vaginal tissue can produce a milky liquid that is "squirted" before, during, and/or after orgasm. Female ejaculation involves the spontaneous release of urine, often mixed with some skene gland secretions, usually just before orgasm. While this is normal and healthy, the absence of these arousal responses is also normal and healthy. It is important to note that there is no direct link between female ejaculation and/or squirting and sexual satisfaction--that is, they do not correlate with the strength or experience of an orgasm. However, some types of orgasms may be more likely to produce ejaculation or squirting in women, particularly G-spot orgasms. Dr. Lipe helpfully walks our listeners through the location and stimulation of the G-spot to help them produce the distinct pleasure of G-spot orgasms. If you have questions about how pelvic floor physical therapy can help men and women improve their sexual health, please give us a call today!

In this segment, Dr. Mistry and Donna Lee are joined by NAU Urology Specialists' new partner, pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Kendel Lipe. Dr. Lipe has a doctorate in physical therapy and works closely with Dr. Angela Treadway, our longtime specialist in pelvic floor physical therapy. Together, they help our patients regain much of their lost functionality and address chronic pain through physical exercises and manual manipulation. Today, Dr. Lipe explains how she approaches patients who often present with potential prostate problems, but who are actually suffering from issues with their pelvic floor. Symptoms to watch out for include urinary issues (urgency, frequency, splayed urine stream, dribbling after urination, etc.) as well as sexual dysfunction (ED, pain with erection, premature ejaculation, etc.). If you or a loved one is struggling with these or other urologic complaints and would like a thorough and holistic evaluation that includes pelvic floor physical therapy as part of the treatment toolbox, please call us today!

The Armor Men's Health Show - Dr. Lucas Jacomides on Lasting Longer and Going Harder Than Before
play

08/15/20 • 10 min

Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.

In this segment, Donna Lee is joined by NAU Urology Specialists' partner Dr. Lucas Jacomides to discuss lasting longer during intercourse. Dr. Jacomides sees many, many patients who want to delay ejaculation to maximize their own satisfaction as well as that of their partner. Surprisingly, SSRI's like Zoloft and Paxil are often helpful in reducing premature ejaculation. And of course, ED medications like Viagra are also useful in prolonging sexual activity. Because the practitioners at NAU Urology Specialists are skilled in treating patients holistically, they are also more successful in finding solutions that work for each individual patient. If you or a loved one are experiencing erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation and are looking for a knowledgable and sympathetic urologist, please give us a call! We love to offer second opinions and are dedicated to helping each patient find the solution that is right for them.
