Welcome to That NICU Mum, a podcast where we share stories of New Zealand parents who have had a baby in a neonatal unit across the country.
This episode is proudly sponsored by The Thrifting Den, your one stop thrift and consignment shop! Find them at www.thethriftingden.com
Today we speak with Kate Hicks, founder and creator of My Birth Story and Birth Trauma Aotearoa.
Kate started BTA after her own experience with birth and NICU that didn't exactly go as planned, and since has evolved her mahi into a wonderful organisation that provides support, resources and validation to birthing people who have experienced trauma in any way relating to pregnancy, birth and post partum.
Kate tells us a little about what she does, the support that her and her team provide, and where to find them.
If you or someone you know need support around birth trauma, they can find resources at mybirthstory.org.nz and birthtraumaaotearoa.org.nz
Enjoy!
