Welcome to the inaugural meeting of That Damned Book Club. We're discussing "How to Sell a Haunted House" by Grady Hendrix. Hendrix is already a modern horror star who has penned the smash hits "My Best Friend's Exorcism," "Horrorstor," "The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires," and more. With "Haunted House" he brings us on a journey through a family's exploration of grief and loss wrapped up in a fun layer of fright. We dig into the meat of it to decide if it's our favorite new horror novel.

In this meeting of That Damned Book Club we discuss "What Moves the Dead" by T. Kingfisher. It's a twisted retelling of "The Fall of the House of Usher," and we loved it. It maintains the gothic horror feel of source material while giving it a few new interesting updates. We learned that it's also now the first book in a series, so we're interested to see where the story goes. In our opinion though, this book can stand on its own.
At the next meeting we'll be discussing "Tender is the Flesh" by Augustina Bazterrica. Pick up a copy.
