Dr. Erica Zelfand is an integrative family physician. She is deeply committed to a patient-centered, root-cause-oriented, nature-honoring approach to healing. After completing a residency in family medicine, Dr. Zelfand pursued additional post-doctorate training in pediatrics and opened an independent integrative medical clinic in Oregon, where she was surprised to find that a staggering percentage of her patients were children battling ADHD and adults struggling with hormonal imbalances and related mood disorders. This led Dr. Zelfand to further study and ultimately specialize in psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (PNEI).
Dr. Zelfand loves sharing her knowledge, her reverence for nature, and her sense of humor with her colleagues, her clients, and audiences of all sizes worldwide. To learn more and connect, please visit www.DrZelfand.com.

Ayla Nereo - The Power of the Voice (#171)
Over the course of six studio albums, Ayla has cultivated her style by bucking industry norms and confidently coloring beyond the lines. The self-produced, full-length album Hollow Bone ushered in a global audience, as Ayla dramatically expanded her sonic palate on a series of groundbreaking records with folktronica duo Wildlight. 2016’s sophomore solo The Code of the Flowers and later By the Light of the Dark Moon furthered her artistic and spiritual trajectories into new musical territory.
Incorporating elements of Celtic melodies, pristine acoustic instrumentation, electronic flourishes, and ancient prose within hip-hop cadences, Nereo possesses an uncanny ability to disarm and crack open the heart. She sings to the depth of our humanness, for the protection of precious wild lands and all living creatures. Her ornate songs splash color across a multi-hued canvas of sound.
Often supported by her live band, Ayla Nereo toured the U.S. extensively in recent years; highlighted by four performances at the hallowed Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, as well as international plays in Europe, Australia, Canada, and Envision Festival in Costa Rica. In 2014, Nereo made headlines on the 33-city, nationwide Permaculture Action Tour with The Polish Ambassador. She’s also shared the stage with a diverse array of artists including Mr. Lif, Rising Appalachia, Trevor Hall, Medicine for the People, Mike Love, and many others.
In addition to music, Ayla Nereo is a filmmaker, dancer, and environmentalist; she has committed herself to bettering the world through her art. She proves to be an activist artist across multiple fronts, partnering with non-profit TreeSisters, an organization that uses concert ticket proceeds to plant trees across the globe. Her song ‘Seeds’ was short-listed for an Oscar nomination (Best Original Song for a Documentary), while ‘Flicker’ was named 2020 Track of the Year in France’s Ziklibrenbib contest.

Robert Thurman - Friendly Facts for Wisdom & Bliss (#173)
Bob is a charismatic speaker and author of many books on Tibet, Buddhism, art, politics and culture. His own search for enlightenment began while he was a university student at Harvard. After an accident in which he lost the use of an eye, Bob left school on a spiritual quest throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He found his way to India, where he first saw His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1962. After learning Tibetan and studying Buddhism, Bob became a Tibetan Buddhist monk and the first Westerner to be ordained by the Dalai Lama. Some years later, however, he offered up his robes when he realized he could be more effective in the American equivalent of a monastery: the university, returning to Harvard to finish his PhD. Time Magazine chose him as one of the 25 most influential Americans in 1997, describing him as a “larger than life scholar-activist destined to convey the Dharma, the precious teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, from Asia to America.”
Bob is the founder and active president of Tibet House US, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Tibetan culture, and of the American Institute of Buddhist Studies, a non-profit affiliated with the Center for Buddhist Studies at Columbia University and dedicated to the publication of translations of important artistic and scientific Tibetan treatises.
As part of his long-term commitment to the Tibetan cause, at the request of H.H. the Dalai Lama, Bob co-founded Tibet House US in 1987 with Tenzin Tethong, Richard Gere, and Philip Glass, a non profit organization based in New York City and dedicated to the preservation and renaissance of Tibetan culture.
Inspired by his longtime good friend the Dalai Lama, Bob takes us along with him into an expanded vision of the world through the prisma of Tibetan Buddhism. He shares with us the sense of refuge in the Dharma, which unfailingly helps us clear away the shrouds of fear and confusion, sustains us with the cheerfulness of an enriched present, and opens a door to a path of realistic hope for a peaceful, kind, and wise future.
