In this event, we talked to Mohamed Somji from Gulf Photo Plus and Farah Fayed from Beirut DC about the future of the Arab Image.
Mohamed is the Director of Gulf Photo Plus (GPP), a Dubai-based gallery and community organization cultivating visual practices in photography in the UAE, and across the wider MENASA region since 2004.
After working with the Dubai International Film Festival for its last 6 editions, Farah joined the team of Beirut DC in 2019 and is now the director of their impact programs including Impact Labs and Good Pitch بالعربي.

In this episode, we talked to artists Mohamed Elshahed and Heba Y. Amin about the future of decolonization.
Mohamed Elshahed is a curator, critic, and architectural historian focusing on modernism in Egypt and the Arab World. He is the author of Cairo Since 1900: An Architectural Guide (AUC Press, 2020), the first substantive survey of modern architecture in Egypt’s capital spanning 226 sites.
Heba Y. Amin is a visual artist, researcher, and educator. Her work is part of several collections, among others the British museum. Amin grew up in Cairo and received her MFA from the University of Minnesota.

In this event, we talked to co-founders of DesignEarth Rania Ghosn & El Hadi Jazairy, and the co-founders of Foundland Collective Ghalia Srakbi & Lauren Alexander about the future of design.
DESIGN EARTH is a research practice, founded by Rania Ghosn and El Hadi Jazairy in 2010. Their work engages the medium of the speculative architectural project to make public the climate crisis.
Foundland Collective was formed in 2009 by South African Lauren Alexander and Syrian Ghalia Elsrakbi and since 2014 is based between Amsterdam and Cairo. The duo collaboration explores underrepresented political and historical narratives by working with archives via art, design, writing, educational formats, video making, and storytelling.
