In 2002, an armory at the Ikeja military cantonment in Lagos, Nigeria, containing "high caliber bombs" went up in flames at about 6.00 pm (local time) on Sunday, 27th January 2002,

This resulted in a series of explosions in and around the cantonment. The explosions affected areas up to 50 km away causing devastation on a mass scale
