Nancy Pelosi, the Kardashians, Joan Rivers, Michael Jackson - they all have something in common - bad plastic surgery. Dr. Perry, as a guest on the Mark Simone radio show on WOR in New York, discussed how artistry is so important in obtaining a good cosmetic surgery result. He says "no one should know you have had cosmetic surgery" if you've had good cosmetic surgery. Also, in the interview, Dr. Perry discusses the current fad of charcoal in skincare. Not proven to do anything, that doesn't stop the industry from creating and selling dozens of charcoal containing products.

People who show a lot of gum when they smile have "gummy smiles". Plastic surgeons work with dentists to fix this problem. Dr. Dean Vafiadis discusses how he removes gum tissue and places veneers on teeth to reduce gummy smile. Tonight, my guest was Dr. Robert Grant, chief of plastic surgery at both Columbia and Cornell. We spoke about a new study that documented just how easy it is to cause blindness when wrinkle filler is injected in the upper portion of the face. This is particularly important since States are now allowing non physicians such as dentists and nurses, to inject filler. Let the buyer beware.
We also spoke about the latest developments in facelift surgery - short scar lifts were proven to be as good as traditional long scar lifts, and perhaps tissue glue may decrease the rate of bleeding. Tune in!
