The connection between mind and body is an important aspect of our overall health and wellness. Being able to listen to and follow your intuition will always point you in the right direction. There is clarity that comes from listening to that intuition. And that clarity can help bring a sense of inner peace and calmness that ripples into a reduction to our level of stress which, in turn, supports the health of our hormones.
Some people have a deeper gift that allows them to tune in and listen to a universal life force energy. We are so excited to have had the opportunity to be joined by our special guest, Susan Hall. Susan is a Master Level Reiki Practitioner, Psychic Medium & Intuitive Consultant.
While searching for healing after experiencing some painful trauma, Susan found a Reiki class. Instantly, she knew she had found something that could not only help herself heal and bring peace, but could also allow her to pursue her passion of helping others. She is now a Master Level Reiki Practioner.
As an empath, Susan often experiences the pain and trauma of others as though it's her own. Through Reiki, she has learned how to harness and recognize energy and feelings that belong to others, release any negativity, as well as help others through their pain in a way that's safe and effective. Being able to master these skills has made a huge difference in her life and the lives of others.
Being a channel for universal life force energy has opened her up further and brought her to her spiritual awakening which began in 2016 - which is also about the time she began her mediumship journey. Since then, she has devoted several hours a day developing her psychic, mediumship, and Reiki skills. It is her soul's mission to bring healing to as many other people as she can in whatever capacity she can.

Using Yoga to heal from past Trauma

Every single living, breathing human being is carrying some sort of trauma inside of our bodies from our past and that trauma is affecting our body and our health in some way. The trauma that we hold in our bodies can manifest itself and present itself in the form of some sort of diagnosis ranging anywhere from anxiety/depression to addiction to autoimmune disease to high cholesterol, heart disease and so much more. Learning how to use yoga to explore what your body is holding onto can play a major role in helping you heal and release the past, in turn, helping you live life to your fullest potential.
In this episode we are joined by our friend Kary Sinkule, who has dedicated her life to teaching yoga for the past 25 years. She is the founder & CEO of Yoga's Arc. She is currently mentoring new Yoga Teachers while they begin their journey in their yoga teaching careers. Yoga’s Arc now has 2 Yoga Teacher Training Schools In-Person and On-Demand and has created the first local Yoga Teacher Community Mentoring Program to help new certified Yoga Instructors get started while bringing more Yoga to more people.
Kary will always have the passion to teach yoga even though she has taken a back seat, giving all of her Yoga's Arc Instructors a chance to shine. She will always encourage her students and has the ability to work with a variety of levels in a variety of classes. She truly cares and it shows in her ability to help her students and teachers feel comfortable in their yoga journeys while being challenged at the same time.
As a survivor of her own childhood trauma, Kary has an amazing gift to share with us and teaches us the beauty of exploring and making peace with our past trauma so that we can heal and thrive and be the person that God created us to be.

The Lies They Told You About HRT

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) can provide several benefits for women going through menopause. Some of those benefits include: relief from hot flashes & night sweats, improved mood and mental health, bone health, vaginal health, prevention of heart disease, better quality sleep, improved skin elasticity.
All of these benefits are in direct correlation with a better overall quality of life.
In the 1990's HRT brought relief from the undesirable symptoms of menopause to millions of women who were enjoying the benefits. However, in 2002 the NIH (National Institutes of Health) held a press conference to announce that HRT caused breast cancer based on findings from an ongoing study. The study was called the Women's Health Initiative (WHI). It claimed that HRT increased breast cancer by 26%, therefore the study was stopped early based on these findings. As a result, HRT was abandoned and labeled as a carcinogen which sent a ripple effect of fear through the medical world.
But was it really true?
In his book, Blind Spots written by Dr. Marty Makary, he explores what happens when medicine gets it wrong and what it means for our health. In Chapter 2 Dr Makary dives down the rabbit hole of HRT and the skewed results of the WHI study and the impact this decision has made to the health of millions of American women. To this day women are being deprived of life changing treatment that could dramatically impact their health in significant ways and help them avoid death and disease prematurely.
In this podcast we explore the truth about HRT and the many ways that it can improve your health, keep you from disease and improve the quality of life as you navigate through menopause.

Here's a little about our guest speaker, Dr David Phillips:
Dr. Phillips graduated from Harvard University in 1984 where he earned academic honors and was an All-American swimmer. After graduation he spent time in a research lab at Duke University investigating methods for the early detection of pancreatic cancer.
He received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine where he finished in the top one percent of his class and was elected to the prestigious national academic Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After practicing as a Board Certified Emergency Physician he came to the realization that many of the diseases he was treating were also very preventable by adopting a healthy lifestyle. As a result. Dr. Phillips used both his academic knowledge and athletic background and shifted his focus to the field of preventative medicine. He has written numerous articles on the important role that nutrition plays in overall health and particularly athletic performance. Dr. Phillips has also competed in triathlons over the last several years winning numerous regional as well as national masters competitions including the St. Croix Half Ironman qualifying him to compete in the "Superbowl" of ironman competitions, the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. Dr. Phillips lectures internationally to thousands sharing with passion what he has learned about living a healthy lifestyle to people from all walks of life; from weekend warriors to professional athletes. He and his wife Heidi, also an accomplished Ironman Triathlete, are the featured hosts of the popular video "One Simple Change". They are also the proud parents of 3 athletic boys, two of which have received individual doctorates in Physical Therapy and Theology and one who is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point
