Lori Adams-Brown is a Business Leader, Podcast Host & Executive Producer of the A World of Difference podcast. Lori is a woman on a mission to bring systemic changes on a global scale by creating belonging and increasing inclusion where she pulls up a chair for new voices at the table.
She worked in Indonesian tsunami relief in 2004, and learned that making a difference means listening, empathizing and rolling up our sleeves to make a significant impact together. She believes our stories are powerful to help us heal from trauma, and that our challenges are what motivate us to bring a much-needed change in our societies around the globe.
Lori Adams-Brown works in Client Relations in a Silicon Valley startup. She grew up in Valencia, Venezuela where she learned to love city life, island life and merengue and salsa music. She worked for 20 years in international relief and development in Singapore and Indonesia. She has been a pastor at a large multi-site church in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Development Director of a nonprofit in the Silicon Valley. Lori speaks 6 languages. She holds an M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and has B.A.s in Sociology and Spanish from Samford University. Her happy place is sipping a flat white coffee while having a deep conversation and enjoying either a beach or mountain vacation with the love of her life, Jason, their urbanite Third Culture Kids, and their Singaporean rescue dog.

In Lori's words:
Our world is polarized, sorted, and siloed in evho chambers that pit us against each other. The war in Eastern Europe is the culmination of what happens when we fail to listen, to see, and to include each other in solving our world’s problems together. Learning to listen, crossing the street, crossing the aisle, and linking arms together in celebration of our differences will help us change the broken systems in our world. We need each other.

3 Top Tips
1. Listen to understand, and listen some more
2. Pro-actively seek out diverse voices to teach you
3. Link arms with people different from you to solve issues in your community, nation and world

In 1970, while a junior in Cornell University’s College of Engineering, Ken Kunken broke his neck making a tackle on a kick-off in a lightweight football game against Columbia University. Ken sustained a spinal cord injury at the C 4-5 level, rendering him a quadriplegic, almost totally paralyzed from the shoulders down. Ken spent more than 9 months in various hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. While still a patient, Ken testified before a United States Senate Sub-Committee on Health Care, chaired by Senator Edward Kennedy.
In 1971, almost 20 years before the Americans with Disabilities Act, Ken returned to the Cornell campus, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering. Ken estimates that he had to be pulled up or bounced down close to 100 steps just to attend his first day of classes.
Ken is the first quadriplegic to graduate from Cornell University.
Upon graduation, Ken decided to change his career goal. He wanted to work with and help people, particularly those with disabilities. Ken went on to earn a Master of Arts degree at Cornell in education and a Master of Education degree at Columbia University in psychology. Ken is the first quadriplegic to earn a graduate degree from Cornell University.
In 1977, Ken was hired by Abilities Inc. in Albertson, NY to be its College Work Orientation Program Coordinator. Ken coordinated a program which provided educationally related work experiences for severely disabled college students. He also maintained a vocational counseling caseload of more than 20 severely disabled individuals.
While working at the Center, Ken became a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor and made numerous public presentations on non-discrimination, affirmative action and employment of the disabled. In 1977, Ken was named the Long Island Rehabilitation Associations “Rehabilitant of the Year” and in 1979 Ken was the subject of one of the Reverend Norman Vincent Peale’s nationally syndicated radio broadcasts “The American Character”.
Wanting to accomplish still more, Ken enrolled in Hofstra University’s School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1982. Ken then went to work as an assistant district attorney in Nassau County, Long Island.
Ken was promoted a number of times during his more than 40 years with the District Attorney’s Office, eventually becoming one of the Deputy Bureau Chiefs of the County Court Trial Bureau, where he helped supervise more than 20 other assistant district attorneys. In addition, over his years working in the Office, Ken supervised more than 50 student interns.
In 1996 Ken received the Honorable Thomas E. Ryan, Jr. Award presented by the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County for outstanding and dedicated service as an Assistant District Attorney. In 1999, Ken was awarded the George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award presented by the Hofstra Alumni Association, Inc.
Beginning in 2005, for nine consecutive years, “The Ken Kunken Most Valuable Player Award” was presented annually by The Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl in Saratoga Springs, NY, in recognition of Ken’s personal accomplishments, contributions to society and extraordinary courage.
In 2009, Ken became a member of the Board of Directors of Abilities Inc., and in 2017 he became a member of the Board of Directors for the parent company of Abilities Inc., the Viscardi Center.
In 2020, Ken was inducted into “The Susan M. Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of Fame,” as a member of the class of 2019.
In March 2024, Ken was named one of the Long Island Business News Influencers in Law.
Ken retired from full-time employment in 2016, but continued to work with the District Attorney’s Office for the next eight years in a part time capacity, providing continuing legal education lectures and litigation guidance.
For years, Ken has tried to inspire people to do more with their lives. In October 2023, Ken’s memoir “I Dream of Things That Never Were: The Ken Kunken Story” was published.
In 2003 Ken married Anna and in 2005 they became the proud parents of triplet boys: Joey, Jimmy and Timmy. On June 23, 2023 the triplets graduated from Oceanside High School, fifty-five years after Ken had graduated from the same school.

3 Top Tips
1 . Try to improve your knowledge, your skills and your performance. Get the best education possible, and never stop learning. Don’t be satisfied with the status quo.
2 . Strive to make the impossible, possible. Just because something has not been done before, does not mean that you cannot do it now.
3 . Find time to help others. Years from now be able to say that you did everything you possibly could to make not only your life, but the lives of those around you better as well.

You have cancer. Oh, but there is more. Having always been an overachiever, I had not one cancer but two – Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma. Yep, I did not know you could get two cancers at the same time either! It’s even rarer to get the two I had. I am a part of the lucky 1%! Like most people you start examining your lifestyle – obesity, stress levels, food etc.... My husband was convinced it was the stress of the job. So, on one of my weak days, he made me promise to retire. Since that day, I love what I do, I love what I do, has been on loop in my head. I cannot imagine not getting up daily to make the world a better place through my work. Plus, I have so much knowledge in my head that can help others. Hence, the brainchild Supporting World Hope was developed. What if I could help fill in the gap for those small nonprofits who do not have access to a National office?

Having been a CEO of a nonprofit for the last 15 years and working through the ranks from program delivery to operations I experienced all levels of what it takes to run a great nonprofit. I swear on one day I went from cleaning a toilet to being flown in a private plan to visit the board of a major foundation. It’s all in a day’s work, right? And yes, we received the grant from the foundation. I digress, because of this experience I believe that if you focus on supporting the CEOs & the Board of Directors and developing the program staff organizations can stay razor sharp on their mission. Thus, changing the world and giving people hope. Hence the name Supporting World Hope!

I’m a cancer survivor who promised her husband to take it slow, but I have a passion for nonprofit work.

Sabrina Walker Hernandez is the President & CEO of Supporting World Hope. She has over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising and leadership. One of Sabrina’s greatest successes is that she increased operation revenue from $750,000 to 2.5 million over an 8-year period as well as being responsible for the planning and operations of a $12 million comprehensive capital campaign. She has facilitated numerous workshops with hundreds of nonprofit professionals. Sabrina is certified in Nonprofit Management by Harvard Business School.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Village in Valley, Edinburg Rotary, FEMCity of the RGV, and Edinburg Economic Development Corporation.

Sabrina's 3 top tips:

  1. A different way to look at your journey - what was it preparing you for?
  2. The joy of giving back
  3. Faith over Fear

In Neal's words:
I lost 8 years of my life because of poor financial decisions that lead to a mountain of debt. These poor financial decisions were a result of my immature grandiosity and poor daily habits.
At the same time I found myself divorced and completely out of shape.
Every problem under the Sun has the same singular source - conflict or flaws within the mind.
My mess was a result of flawed character.
I eventually surmounted these challenges and resolved my internal division by unifying my mind and body - by bridging the gap between the conscious and the subconscious to yield the Ultraconscious.
The Ultraconscious is the unborn entity with - our highest and best self that we are all being called to become - letting go of our ego control and allowing the source to flow through us.
My job is to help people uncover their true individuality and strength; to become free in spirit no matter what the physical circumstances may be.
The best path is a fusion of form and intellect, skill and substance.
The process of cultivating genius is simple but not easy. Hybrid mastery entails nurturing your mind and your body so that you may clearly access the source – this is how you become a Unified Man.
A Unified Man is clear.
A Unified Man is strong.
A Unified Man is in control.
A Unified Man rules his internal territory – he has built a Nation from Within.

3 Top Tips
1. You already have everything you need - you just don't know how to access it.
2. All of the answers are within - you just need someone from without to show you them.
3. Matter over Mind - The only way to truly affect the mind is through the body.

Hello, I'm Erik Scott, a Systems Engineer with 21 years of experience in designing supercomputers. Beyond my professional life, I'm a dedicated JuJitsu practitioner and a former CrossFit competition judge. My fitness journey spans 28 years, exploring various modalities and even participating in endurance-based events like GORUCK Rucking.
One significant turn in my journey was battling five years of severe back pain, leading me to explore MSC Stem Cell treatment in Colombia, resulting in a remarkable transformation. Today, I'm not only a proud newlywed but also a committed advocate for health and fitness, having shed 20 pounds in just a month and a half.
As a new father and husband, my life has taken on new dimensions, and I bring a unique perspective to discussions about balancing a demanding career, maintaining physical and mental well-being, and navigating transformative life experiences. I believe in the power of discipline and positive habits, lessons learned through personal challenges and triumphs. I'm excited to share my story and insights on podcasts, bringing a blend of professional expertise, personal journey, and the joys and challenges of being a new father and husband to your audience.

Hero’s Journey:
“My journey took a significant turn when I faced the relentless challenge of extreme back pain for over five years. This pain, compounded by my rigorous fitness routines, left me with no positive results from medical teams in the United States. One year ago, driven by detailed research, I made the courageous decision to seek MSC Stem Cell treatment for issues including L2-L5 disc herniations, L1-L2 and L3-L4 bulging discs, and L3-L4 canal stenosis. This choice was met with scepticism from medical professionals, friends, and family, as it involved travelling to Colombia for treatment.Fast forward one year, and the transformation is undeniable. A ‘before and after’ MRI comparison revealed increased hydration in the herniated disks, the absence of bulging discs, and no signs of canal stenosis, all without inflammation in other areas. My unwavering commitment to health and fitness remained, especially as I embarked on a new chapter of my life, as a newlywed with a baby on the way. The realization that I needed to shed weight and embrace positive habits drove me to action. Fearful that I might not be able to lift my daughter off the ground, I sought the guidance of a mindset, nutrition, and fitness mentor, resulting in a remarkable 20-pound weight loss in just four months. I learned that the pain of discipline far outweighs any regret from neglecting my well-being.”

261 Kristy Kilcup: How to move past your distorted narrative. It’s all bullshit anyway!

Kristy Kilcup, Founder and CEO of Version of YOU - 2.0 INC.,TM is known for her rapid transformational results and ‘disruptor attitude’ within the weight loss industry, bestowed upon her by the New York City Journal.

As an Rapid Transformational Therapy® Certified Hypnotherapist, Personal Trainer, Health, Life and Mastery Level Transformation Coach, Advanced Nutrition and Personalized Health Coach, she leverages her personal story, 28 years of professional experience and education to help her clients move past fear and anxiety. She also specializes in Weight Loss for Women, helping them understand their unique hormone blueprint while clearing underlying emotional issues.

In Kristy's words:
We spend most of our life avoiding our truth.
We numb it with food, alcohol, sex, drugs and pain.
We avoid it with work, volunteering, or isolation.
And while we rely on these coping mechanisms to get by, we have this little voice fighting to be heard, saying, "we deserve more." Or this chronic feeling of unhappiness, often not really knowing why we are so unhappy.
And what if you could uncover the origin of your distorted truths? Tap into your body in time to recognize when you have been triggered, so you can take back control? Would you dive in?
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Pay very close attention to your physiology. How you feel will help you realize if you have been emotionally triggered so you can take control of your responses
2. Step back and assess where these feelings originated along your timeline. Understand that your feelings (aka emotional triggers) are not the result of that particular moment. You have an attachment to an event that occurred in your past, and it's that past event that you need to link to your current emotional state. In doing so, you can recognize that the reason why you are so sad, frustrated, or angry is not because of the present moment but because of how you felt in the past. That awareness gives you the power to diffuse the intensity of your feelings felt in the present moment.
3. Identify that you get to control your emotions' "intensity volume," thereby controlling your emotional response. Now that you recognize you have been triggered and why your feelings are so intense, you can focus on breathing, calming down and taking rational action rather than an irrational reaction to the situation at hand.
