I discuss my thoughts on Laina Dawes' 2013 book "What Are You Doing Here?" I can relate to sometimes being the only POC in a predominately white and male space with this genre of music. Laina and a bevy of other black women talk about their experiences of being black and women in the metal, punk, hard rock and hardcore scene.
