Bryant and Kristin Young (REVISITED)
After a stellar 14-year NFL career, all with the San Francisco 49ers, Bryant Young was inducted earlier this month into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In honor of his enshrinement, we are revisiting a conversation that he and his wife, Kristin, had on Table Forty in late December 2021.
Young was one of the best defensive players of his generation. Named to four Pro Bowls, he was also named a First Team All-Pro in 1996. In 1999 he was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year by both the Associated Press and the Professional Football Writers Association, and in 1994 he was named to the NFL All-Rookie team after a stellar three-year college career at Notre Dame. He also named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2nd Team All-1990s Team.
It was at Notre Dame that he met Kristin, and they've been together for 31 years.
At his enshrinement, Young was presented by his daughter, Kai, and former 49ers owner “Mr. D,” Edward DeBartolo Jr. With the rest of his family in attendance as well, he gave a powerful speech in which he gave glory to God and honored his late son, Colby, who passed away in 2016 from cancer at the age of 15.

Karen and Maggie Bohannan — Homers For Health
Founded by Matt Holliday Leslee Holliday in 2012, Homers for Health has helped raise millions of dollars in cancer research and patient care efforts. The Hollidays have continued to be champions for Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis and the Homers for Health program even after Matt's playing days ended there.
This week is a special live conversation with Maggie Bohannan and her mother Karen. Maggie, through her fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2011, was the inspiration behind Homers for Health. They've remained close with the Hollidays since, and this conversation is a celebration of both her progress and the countless lives that Homers for Health has impacted over the past decade.
