This week on the Table Forty Podcast, Matt and Leslee Holliday speak with Sports Spectrum Podcast host Jason Romano. A former producer at ESPN, Romano made the move to Sports Spectrum in 2017. He now serves as the Director of Media for Sports Spectrum.

In this conversation, Jason talks about his experiences working at ESPN as well as the lessons he's learned in his life that have served as the backbone for the two books he's authored: "Live to Forgive," a story of how he forgave his alcoholic father, and "The Uniform of Leadership," which includes lessons he learned and stories from his years at ESPN.

He's a man of faith, a spiritual mentor, and an expert on financial responsibility from a Biblical perspective. Much of this conversation centers around money, mentoring, and message of 2 Timothy, where Paul offers a personal challenge to Timothy to keep following Jesus no matter the risk.

After a stellar 14-year NFL career, all with the San Francisco 49ers, Bryant Young was inducted earlier this month into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In honor of his enshrinement, we are revisiting a conversation that he and his wife, Kristin, had on Table Forty in late December 2021.

Young was one of the best defensive players of his generation. Named to four Pro Bowls, he was also named a First Team All-Pro in 1996. In 1999 he was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year by both the Associated Press and the Professional Football Writers Association, and in 1994 he was named to the NFL All-Rookie team after a stellar three-year college career at Notre Dame. He also named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2nd Team All-1990s Team.

It was at Notre Dame that he met Kristin, and they've been together for 31 years.

At his enshrinement, Young was presented by his daughter, Kai, and former 49ers owner “Mr. D,” Edward DeBartolo Jr. With the rest of his family in attendance as well, he gave a powerful speech in which he gave glory to God and honored his late son, Colby, who passed away in 2016 from cancer at the age of 15.

Episode 98

Nolan McLean and Caeden Trenkle are sophomores on the Oklahoma State baseball team, where "Table Forty" co-host Matt Holliday serves as an assistant coach. Trenkle was an All-Big 12 Conference selection in 2021, while McLean started 39 games.

They joined "Table Forty" with Matt and Leslee Holliday this week to talk about their baseball career, how their work ethic has gotten them to this point, and their faith.

Episode 106

The St. Louis Cardinals hosted their 30th annual Christian Day at the Ballpark on July 16, 2022, and "Table Forty" Podcast hosts Matt and Leslee Holliday were the guest speakers. The program featured interviews with several Cardinals players, including star first baseman Albert Pujols, where they shared their faith story with a crowd that stayed after the game.

Matt and Leslee then held a panel discussion with Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol, bench coach Skip Schumaker, pitcher Adam Wainwright, and All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. That discussion was recorded as this week's podcast.

Listen in as Matt and Leslee catchup with old friends and discuss their faith stories and the rhythms they ascribe to in order to keep their relationship with Jesus as their top priority while navigating a long and grueling baseball season.
