013. Rachel's Yogic Journey
04/04/19 • 47 min
We all have our own personal life challenges presented to us in one form or another, which can create quite a scary & lonely path without either support or tools. In this episode we meet Rachel Lamb, diagnosed with type one diabetes as an eighteen year old.
Since type one diabetes is a very serious chronic auto-immune disease, it can result in critical health issues if misdiagnosed or not treated properly. This is what Rachel had to experience as a young teenage girl, which brought her on a journey looking for answers and clues to support her on this new, unexpected twist of fate. Rather than letting her diagnosis bring her to her knees, she turned her challenges into greater understanding and also an opportunity to help others going through similar things.
This episode revolves a lot around how responsibility without guilt or blame is such an important key if we want to heal or free ourselves from unhealthy patterns of the past. We also discuss and look into topics such as family patterns, what they are and how we can work with them in a harmonious way.
Due to a few minor connection issues (after all we were connecting from all over the world!) the sound breaks intermittently, which we apologize for, but it is still well worth tuning in!

012. Meditation Check Up
Living a balanced life is so much more than starting to meditate. The path of yoga offers a whole lifestyle with many components to attend to daily if we want to feel ourselves living in a harmonious flow.
Even though we try to balance up all the theory with some real life stories and practical advice, we thought it would be helpful to do regular check ups on ourselves from time to time. In this way we honestly share how we are doing with our own meditation practice, discussing challenges that show up in life and how we try to overcome them guided by the teachings and tools of yoga science.
In this check up we touch on the importance of relaxation as well as the challenge to meditate when the mind is busy planning and creating. Then we take a look at the need for introspection or journaling when we want to grow in new directions in life or become a different and hopefully better version of ourselves. Finally we discuss how living aligned with, or walking towards, our inner dreams helps us feel much more at ease in life.

014. Seclusion
Traditionally, yoga was taught and practiced individually. There would be a teacher/guru to advise where yoga students would come together in group to deepen their practice occasionally, but mainly it was performed in solitude.
Living in this day and age it might sound like a luxury or perhaps even impossible to carve out some time for solitude and stillness. Yet in this episode that is exactly what we do. We take whatever time we have to spend some time in seclusion and we share our experiences with you, our listeners.
Both of us have an absolute shift in our wellbeing due to this minor investment. Tune in to learn how we did it and the amazing outcome we both had thanks to it.
