In this episode my guest is my sister, Victoria. We discuss some of the struggles she has gone through with drug use and how she overcame those struggles. I also get her perspective on what my addiction looked like from the outside from someone so close to me.
As usual thank you for listening to me, if you are trying to get sober or are new to sobriety, go easy on yourself, take it one day at a time (sometimes one minute at a time). Recovery/sobriety takes time and constant effort, it never takes a day off, but I know neither will you. It won't be easy but you got this.

In this episode I will tell you that there is almost a 100% chance you will think about drinking in sobriety, BUT it is not the thought that is the problem, and I will tell you how I deal with those kind of thoughts. In the second portion of my episode I also talk about those feelings and emotions that we have tried for so long to run away from by drinking and using drugs, and now being sober we have to face them. It doesn't have to be as scary as you think, trust me.

Season 2 - Episode 1: In this episode I will reintroduce myself and re-share my sobriety story for any new listeners or for those that might not have had a chance to listen to my very first episode. As always, thank you very much for taking some time out of your day to listen to me ramble lol. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, especially alcoholism, just know you are not alone, I hear you, and I understand. Trust me when I say it does get better, take it day by day, don't look too far ahead, go easier on yourself, but always wake up and be willing to put the work in. God bless.

In this weeks episode I talk about trust and how it relates to my addiction and now my sobriety. Trust is a key piece in any relationship, without it there isn't much of a relationship at all. Being in active addiction you betray a lot of people through lying, cheating, etc. Some people may never trust me again but I understand and respect why. Just like a persons reputation, it can take years to develop trust but only a second to lose it all.

Episode 010: Rock Bottom
Sober Up
09/07/22 • 13 min
In this episode I will talk about the term "Rock Bottom" and what that has meant for me. Addiction can drag us to some of the lowest points in our life and keep us there if we let it, it takes extreme courage and strength to recover from these circumstances, but it is very possible. I will offer my advice on how to deal with hitting rock bottom and my experience hitting rock bottom when I was drinking. Do not let your addiction control you forever, it is easier said then done, but I promise you things will get better even if you make the smallest of efforts to get sober/clean.
