There’s a theory that we have a set point for joy that probably gets determined in our early environments- an Upper Limit. Like we are carrying the vibe of our childhoods around inside of us and feel uncomfortable when we stray too far from that point. Which sucks. And actually... may not be true. You may see your set point change a lot in my life. But it doesn’t happen overnight. Let's begin expanding our capacity for joy tonight, and overtime, you may see some pretty dramatic changes.

The Power Of Surrender
In tonight's Sleep Hypnosis with Jessica, we practice surrender, to make our lives balanced and whole. Surrender gets a bad rap. We think of surrender as weakness, giving up when we should keep pushing, and moving and shaking.

But, we need to surrender sometimes. Think of Yin and Yang. Yin is passive, receptive, peaceful and soft. It is surrending to the forces of nature. Yang force is the more contracting, forceful, forward moving, pressure-creating. What is one without the other? There are pauses, releases, and mini-surrenders everywhere, if you look for them. And they are as vital as any contraction; in fact it is the perfect partner to contraction... to give us all perspective, self-reflection, and room to grow.
