Sky King

This is the free portion of Sky King's Mental Playground, where we start the fun and welcome you into the playground.

Propaganda, Art, Health, Regenerative Systems, Great Food, Economic Incentives, and building companies in an increasingly digital world.

All of these concepts live in a balance of centralized and decentralized systems. If we are not careful, we will watch the pendulum swing away from self-governance, and in that swing, we have the opportunity to lose humanity's future to the dark side.

These concepts own my mind. This podcast is an opportunity to explore these ideas with world leaders, entrepreneurs, my homies, and people who generally excite or entertain me.

It is called a playground for a reason. This podcast will be as fun as it is informative; we are tackling society's most pervasive issues, but in a way that we are undoubtedly going to fuck up, scribble on, and get hurt.

Sky King's Mental Playground (FREE VERSION) - Momin Ahmad - Chasing MOments, The power of neighbor vigilantes and solving problems

Welcome to the Sky King’s Mental Playground Polkadot, Kusama, Web3, & NFT edition. I am releasing public episodes from Sky King’s Mental Playground private feed because I am on a quest to find a technical co-founder. We are building a new business model of media, and we need those who want to realize the vision of Web3 to join us on this journey. If this tickles your curiosity, learn more here: https://bit.ly/SKMPOFS

Momin is a creative force to be reckoned with. He is a connector, an operator, a musician, and a really fun dude. I wanted him on this podcast to understand how you go from no coding to writing smart contracts in three months, why on earth he decided to create a music festival in fuck-all Texas, and more insight into how we should raise money for Stoa.

Favorite quotes and ideas from the podcast.

"How to go from No-code to writing smart contracts in 3 months."

  1. Have a strong "why." Look, it's a fucking cliche, but it's also true like many. Mo saw that software was eating the world. He knew he didn't want to be an appetizer, so he set out to learn more.
  2. Find your Yoda - Mo met his co-founder Neil who showed him what was possible when combining creativity and coding. Neil also offered up a challenge CTND
  3. Mo realized that he wanted to build something with Neil. To join, Neil said, go write a smart contract.
  4. Mo now had a deep why and a challenge to overcome. But, like any hero on a journey, the story was beginning.
  5. He took a three-month coding boot-camp course that taught him a bunch of useless stuff, but the valuable thing it gave him was an understanding of logic.
  6. Use the terminal - try and do everything you normally do, but from the terminal.
  7. Find a problem you want to solve and solve it.

"How to understand risk as we move into a more volatile world."

"In crypto, you need to adjust your mindset. First, you have to look at the worst thing that can happen. Then, multiply it by ten and assume that it will happen 4x per year."

"Smart people with data, make smart decisions" - Mo.

"People don't understand how difficult it is to translate data off the blockchain. Understanding, consuming, and processing data from the blockchain is not as easy as it sounds because you have to rely on a human being to translate it for you before consuming it. That's why we're making Credmark. The way we solve it is open source.

"Understanding money gives you an understanding of human behavior" - Mo.

We did a unique art piece for this launch collaborating with EMA-1 and JesseArt. I think it turned out great. If you want to own this fantastic 1 of 1 or any of our pieces, head to our collection on RMRK. Jesse crushed this. Check out the rest of his work and their project. He is a big-brained mother fucker who has built something spectacular in a crazy amount of time. I look up to him and his team's ability to produce, think incredibly long-term, balance with riding the current wave, realize the opportunity that Web3 presents, and build from first principles. If you want to understand gaming, Web3, the metaverse, building a company in crypto, raising funds, and just being an all-around legend, Charles is your dude. Enjoy! I am working on simplifying and communicating topics that I am obsessed with, which are often complex. This podcast was an opportunity to attempt that. I thought a great opportunity to do that was to try and explain NFTs to my mom. We quickly devolved/evolved to a massive generational discussion which was quite fun. We talk about the world the baby boomers have left us, the evolutionary survival of a meme, NFTs, Cryptocurrencies, and the future of the world. I expressed a lot more of my radical ideas. I hope you enjoyed the podcast as much as we did.

There was a lot of stuff that we discussed towards the end of the podcast in economics that were directionally true but might have been precisely incorrect in our examples.

Shout out to Mill's new Tallow Potato Chip Company DOS. It just launched and the chips are really fucking good.

What does it mean to pursue greatness? This is a question that has haunted me my entire life. I have been in constant oscillation between the order that I think it must take and the chaos that entropy desires from my soul. Thus is the foundation of why I wanted to talk to Mills today. He has committed to the path of greatness, he has done it wholeheartedly, and he is in constant pursuit. I admire it. I look up to it. This conversation was incredibly impactful as I navigated giving meaning to my life and pulling meaning from it. I hope that it helps you too on your journey. I hope it helps you too.

Thank you for your attention.
