Boners and Birthdays
SkeleTales
01/26/23 • 49 min
Skeleton boners, mystifying birthday paradoxes, vengeful stardust, reincarnation and more!
This week Britt and Alissa cover all sorts of tales of the strange and mystifying.
Alissa informs us of a thing called the birthday paradox but doesn't go into too much detail because...numbers.
The strangeness is how many family members she has who are born on or near the same day.
Britt regails a story told by Margaret that takes place in an old abbey outside of London. Her and her roommate encounter a strange stardust like shimmering spirit who may or maynot be Lord North. We learn a little bit more about Wroxton Abbey and why it is most likely very very haunted.
Alissa reads a story written by Steve, the paranormal poet of SkeleTales. He tells of the strange coincidence that has led him to believe that he very well may be the reincarnation of his great grandfather.
Britt then transports you to a true teen horror movie with her story from Uncle. He tells of his journey to an abandoned cemetery with a suburban full of rowdy friends. Blue floating orbs and one terrifying red orb haunt them as they try to leave as quickly as possible.
The episode is wrapped up by learning of Montana's biggest mysteries. The Vortex House of Mysteries is bound to leave one perplexed and most likely underwhelmed. But the real mystery lies in the hotel bathroom in the Belton Chalet where a little girl is known to join you while you shower.

SkeleTales School For Haunted Children
SkeleTales
04/14/21 • 58 min
In this week's episode of SkeleTales the ladies once again go on a chaotic bender of stories untethered to a central theme. Yet, as Jeff Goldblum once taught us, even in chaos, patterns begin to emerge and tonight’s tales are no exception.
Britt once again harvests her stories from the ghoulish garden that is Nextdoor. She tells the story of Sally, whose holiday weekend was cut short by a child’s laugh and a locked door. Perhaps emboldened by her previous encounter, Sally goes on to attend a ghost tour in Spring, Texas where her senses are assaulted by an inescapable and inexplicable odor that seemingly trancends time and space, a remnant of gore and brutality from bygone years.
While still envious of others paranormal encounters, Alissa is suddenly grateful that she is not haunted by stank spirits or other unwanted entities such as those who torment her friend’s child, Mikayla. Seemingly held at bay by tri-annual clearings, the spirits have taken a shine to poor little Mikayla. Though the visitors are sometimes family members who entrust her with knowledge she couldn’t know, too often they are the ghostly manifestations of stranger danger.
Mikayla, however, is not the only haunted tot in today’s tales. Britt brings a story of some children who are too petrified to sleep, or even enter, their Austin townhome for fear of being beamed by a rogue marble or spotting something so terrifying that they can only describe it by saying “Halloween Is Here.” This is a truly horrifying tales with a murdery backstory.
Tune in for these spooky tales and a laugh and more in this week’s episode of SkeleTales, brought to you by Katie’s drinks. As always, thank you for listening and Haunt Y’all Later.

The Drunkisode
SkeleTales
05/26/21 • 72 min
Dear listeners, this is the infamous Drunkisode, resurrected from Britt’s champagne soaked laptop and lightly edited for your listening pleasure. Though the ladies' recollection of this recording summons imagery of firey trainwrecks, upon sober review of the footage, this episode is surprisingly coherent.
Britt kicks off the episode with a gallon of champagne and a haunting tale of why you should never ask a ouija board when you will die. Alissa then gives a peek inside the brain of little Allie Wilson with a charming elementary school murder mystery which, amazingly, did not win her a trip to the school therapist.
The ladies then try to decide if being haunted by Mississippi University For Women’s Melancholy Mary really counts as being haunted at all and them Alissa tells a tale about a skinwalker that somehow leads to a conversation about deer crashes and deer speed records.
Britt changes the mood with a spooky-ass stalking story that you really must hear to believe. Some may even say that her tale also features a skinwalker... of sorts.
Doppelgangers finally get the attention they deserve and for seem reason they are all children wearing victorian clothing. Britt wraps up this messisode with a spooky story of a haunting encounter with a nursing home patient who may or may not have made a deal with the devil.
Thank you to all of you who tuned into the Live despite the significant techinical difficulties. Y’all are the best! We will be posting the video soon!

Hospital Hauntings
SkeleTales
02/10/24 • 34 min
We take you now to the most horrifying, terrifying, bone chilling place... hospitals.
Alissa and Britt share a variety and wealth of stories that will have you gasping in fright and laughing with delight.
There is a story of a patient who asks a doctor for directions and the doctor discovers moments later that that very patient lay dead in their room.
There is a hospital ghost that likes to take out the trash in patient's rooms and is caught on video coming into the corridor.
A doctor making his rounds on the children's unit is then discovered not to exist at all and is apparently a doctor who passed years before.
A dad makes a poor decision to let his 5yr old into the morgue to see cadavers. Instead she sees a ghost that only she can see, scaring the heck out of her dad.
That story transitions to a tale of terrifying knocks that come out of the fridge in the morgue and the wise advice to never open the fridge while it's knocking.
Room #1 is the most haunted place in this one hotel. A nurse thinks someone is pranking them as they see someone behind the privacy curtain. As they soon discover, it is only the resident ghost scaring the living daylights out of everyone.
This ICU has seen some crazy things but the craziest has been a ghostly cat that visits the rooms of those about to die. He's not a friendly cat though and will hiss as a final farewell.
This medical student sees a person vanish in midair in front of a white door only to discover they're not the only ones to have witness this same thing in front of the same door... the morgue door.
This patient coded and the only way to be brought back was to have his wife yell at him. This happens 3 times before they finally keep the wife near him as he's transported for his organ transplant. Spoiler, he lives!
A nurse who dies suddenly remains at the hospital where she died. She's seen sitting by the window of every patient who stays in that room.
Lastly, we hear of a patient who is moments away from death who rallies, gets up, gets dressed, asks for dinner, then promptly dies. She just wanted that last meal!

Haunted Houses Of Unknown Shape
SkeleTales
02/03/21 • 58 min
The haunted houses in this episode do have a shape, but somehow, despite descriptions intended to aid your dear hosts in envisioning these dwellings, they remain confounded. What is indesputable is the paranomal activity at work within these amorphous abodes.
Our first story follows the saga endured by SkeleTales listener Dan, whose body, ears and soul were tormented by an entity seemingly determined to run him off of the circa 1775 homestead he purchased near Haunted Lake in Southern New Hampshire. A ghostly game of ding dong ditch and an uninvited squeeze of the neck were just harbingers of the misfortune that would befall him in his pre-revolutionary house of horror. Knowing that Britt and Alissa are unable to pass up a harrowing tale of survival, Dan also deftly sneaks a brush with death into his yarn, detailing how he and his little pup Lucy survived the Storm of the Century on Lake Champlain some years back.
The next tale serenades you with the sweet sounds of the forgotten ballads of Enya as remembered and very poorly performed by your lovely hosts as Britt retells her friend Lauren’s haunted account. Set in a house of ill-defined proportions in Lousiana, this story begins with the ghostly vison of an evil old woman who hates house cleaners, musicians and apparently, new age celtic melodies.
Also awaiting you in this episode is an update on our favorite not so imaginary friend Jada and some practical tips on how one should conduct themselves when encountering a dirt basement floor.

Despite the fates conspiring against us to muffle these tales of mystery and adventure, we are pleased to finally be publishing this very special SkeleTalk featuring Alissa’s darling husband, the very handsome and talented, Mitchell Williams.
While it may appear that we just decided to interview whomever we had lying around our homes as a filler episode, you would be dearly mistaken because you are, in fact, in for a treat! Mitch is here to share tales from beyond the pale that he experienced growing up in a haunted farmhouse in western New York and, more recently, as a performance driving instructor at Dirtfish Rally School in Snoqualmie, Washington.
If you happen to be a Twin Peaks or David Lynch fan, buckle up for a double dose of delight because Mitch’s worksite, the old Weyerhauser Lumber Mill, also happens to be home to many of the iconic buildings featured in the cult classic with one structure, in particular, playing heavily into his tale.
Once again we would like to thank Mitch for his willingness to share his stories and his patience with the misadventure we encountered trying to record this episode. We love you Mitch!

Haunted Homesteads Y’all
SkeleTales
11/25/20 • 62 min
In this episode Britt and Alissa both happen to have found stories that occur at idyllic homesteads on opposite sides of the country. Britt’s tale describes the night a dark energy stalked and poorly serenaded her mother Debbie during a visit to MawMaw's house in Splendora, Texas in the 1970s. Was it a ghost? A demon? A vampire? You be the judge. Alissa then reads a story sent in by Katie, a dear listener and friend, who tells of strange experiences at her grandparent’s house at the base of Mt. Watatic in Ashby, Massachusetts. Built in 1750, the gorgeous old home is rumored to have been a stop on the underground railroad and is said to be haunted by a sad old ghost by the name of Mr. Barker, who could use a lesson on social distancing.

Time (Zone) Travelers
SkeleTales
09/22/22 • 46 min
Before getting into this week’s episode recap, you are invited to tune into SkeleTales live via zoom at 6PM PST on Saturday, October 1, 2022 for the 100th Episode Skelebration!
Now, onto the matter of this week’s episode where the ladies discuss travelers of time, space, dimensions and zones.
Alissa makes a decades old discovery that proves that residents of her neighborhood have been having close encounters of the third - and possibly threesome kind, for decades. And, speaking of the oldy times, the ladies pontificate on the potentials of time travel after Alissa relays the tale of gentleman who cancels plans after an encounter with his future self. After hearing Alissa’s final yarn involving a girl who mistakes a ghost for a time traveler Britt share some fail-proof tips on how to spot a time-traveler. Alissa also briefly revisits the mystery howls that haunted her evening not long ago and how it may relate to a suspicious number of missing felines in her Pacific North West nook.
Britt cracks open the Crypt of Corrections to shed some light on a shadowy, or rather not no shadowy figure she spoke about in a previous episode. He’s a cowboy ghost looking for love in all the wrong houses, because apparently his lady is haunting in someone else’s house. The ladies also assume that he would also very much like the TV to be tuned to Little Haunted House On The Praire or Boonanza for the duration of eternity. Britt then delights and entices Alissa to go on a camping adventure with friend of the podcast Dawn after she tells her of some strange and unusual phenomena that occur near the fun to say, but scary to visit town of Kapowsin, Washington. From the cursed town of Clay City to the two stroke ghosts and guttural growls that haunt the woods near Camp 1, this may be one of the eeriest parts of the PNW and would make the perfect destination for those of you who love camping, but hate sleeping.
