The Desperate Hours (1955) | Movie Review | Fourth in Humphrey Bogart series
Silver Screen Guide | Movie Review Podcast
12/17/18 • 93 min
In 1955 audiences were shocked by one of the first mainstream films depicting the terrorizing of a family in their suburban home. Humphrey Bogart stars as escaped murderer, Glen Griffith, who holds a nuclear family hostage. Imagine Leave it to Beaver meets In Cold Blood. This film helped spawn the "home-invasion" sub-genre still popular today. Despite its frightening subject matter, the film was well-received by audiences at the time and today is highly regarded by critics. Corbin and Allen present their review of an often forgotten Bogart classic, The Desperate Hours.

Silver Screen Guide | Movie Review Podcast
03/02/20 • 55 min
A new decade; a new millennium. If you thought it was a long wait between the first and second Terminator films well how about waiting 12 years for a third installment! That's right listeners, after the blowout success of T2, shockingly the studios involved didn't immediately capitalize on the success but rather waited over a decade. This time the stakes are even higher, Judgment Day wasn't stopped, it was simply protracted. With a new cast and crew, the first ever female Terminator and finally the rise of the machines is this critically lauded installment third time's the charm or is it a pile of T-800 skeletons? Join Corbin and Allen as they give their review of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines to find out!
Join the discussion-Comment below! Question after the show: Was it a mistake to not bring James Cameron and Linda Hamilton back or does this movie prove the series is just fine without them?

Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) | Movie Review
Silver Screen Guide | Movie Review Podcast
09/04/18 • 64 min
Although Halloween Resurrection wasn't a box office failure, it did fail to satisfy fans who felt the new things it did for the series weren't ultimately satisfying nor even remotely close to the heart of Halloween. What the franchise needed was another reboot. For the first time, Halloween got a remake, quasi-prequel, and reimagining. Musician Rob Zombie was brought on to direct a Halloween more terrifying and visceral for the post-Saw horror genre. In 2007, audiences received a graphic, nihilistic vision of Michael Myers, his family, and the innocent teenage babysitters. Did it reignite fans urge for the Halloween series to continue? Join Corbin and Allen to find out!
